I moved to Bellingham to "reboot" 4 1/2 years ago. Also a great decision! You can live right on the water in a trendy neighborhood and AFFORD it, unlike Silicon Valley, where I moved from. It's a very outdoorsy place, very walk-able and has easy access to Vancouver, B.C. and Seattle. I highly recommend.

If you really think the statement of Chico being the north silicon valley is a joke think again. What would you consider besides Chico?
Do you not see the companies that are currently in Chico? Here is just a few: Build.com, Lulus.com, Wanderful.com, Milestonepowered.com, Auctiva.com, Amain.com, Skybolt studios, Socialhighrise.com . . . and other smaller start ups. Plus this doesnt include some companies that started in Chico and moved to the bay area like Biznessapps.com. Chico has an emerging start up community and it will continue to grow!

Chico is great for starting a new business. The downtown area has several stores with art, clothing and Made in Chico store. People who come up here to go to Chico State or Butte College sometimes never leave. I consider Chico my Hometown no matter where I was born or wherever I live.

I agree Brooke silicon valley? Chico is really pretty, eco friendly, lots of outdoor activities and friendly. I was torn between Bend and Paradise. Bend was just too cold. Paradise won. Great retirement area.

I just moved to Chico to "reboot" 5 months ago. Great decision! I don't know about silicon north.... but it is definitely an entrepreneurial town. I've been all over the US and Europe, and Chico is damn-near idyllic (except the ungodly heat in the summer).

Chico is NOT a northern silicon valley. What a joke of a statement. Chico is BEAUTIFUL, and I love it here but Silicon Valley North...man, oh man. Research a little people...
