I think she is the ATTENTION WHOR"E". I saw it and thought who race's ex or who rakes. If there was no space between the o and the r, then I would cut her some slack. She just wants some attention. Maybe she used to be, and was hurt by the way Karma found her!

I agree with the majority of people that this women is making more out of this than need be & most likely just trying to bring attention to herself.. After reading the way the articles headline was worded, & assuming the women was seeing something disturbing, I also tried to see something offensive, but couldn't. My main gripe here is the same as one other person. That even though it was only "$17" that she herself was not budging or willing to pay, then under NO CIRCUMSTANCES should us taxpayers should have occurred the charge. If the radio station also thought it wasn't right, then they should have paid the 17 dollars. If this women is also doing this for the sake of her daughter, then she should be teaching her that you still have to pay your bills even if you don't like something about them. She needs to get her priorities straight!!!! Also to >. No judging4me.. For someone who isn't judging, you sure are doing alot of judging yourself on the rest of us, & besides what chain of events do you know about leading up to this? NONE, I thought not!!

There is a gap between the 0 and R. It looks like Who Rakes. When I saw a picture of the plate, I thought the woman might have been an Hispanic person who didn't want to be stereotyped as a gardner.

It takes a whole lot of assumption to come up with "whore 8 times." No. Sorry!

come on lady i looked at it for 5 minutes trying to figure out what the heck it was suposed to say.

    Ding-dong!

  • Shep - 10 years ago

Talk about wacko. I'm 70 and have seen a lot in my lifetime. This woman has one screwed up mind.

  • Traci - 10 years ago

With so many REAL consumer issues going on SHAME on FOX News for wasting time on this crap.
Only thing offensive is the taxpayer's stuck paying for Deb Levy's nonsense .

  • Veemom2 - 10 years ago

The woman needs to stop looking for her one minute of fame. Total waste of time and energy . Too many more important things to do than create fake news.

  • Big Money - 10 years ago

When I first read the plate I saw: WhoooooooRaaaaaaayyy8 with an X ( times 10,maybe) anyway, after reading the story...................... maybe I see her point!

You should think twice about driving around with expired plates or is that so you can blame the DOR for the ticket your going to get. I have issued plates that read H0E ??? , I offered if they declined I grabbed the next plate not a big deal. There are more important things in life to worry about ! If you look at the plate it reads wh0 r8x (who rates) Guess you don't

People are quick to judge and spout their opinions which is offensive in and of itself. Add to that a plate in which could and probably will entice someone to react with the same ignorance and shown in these post, to me is very offensive. Perhaps until everyone knows the entire chain of events prior to this story making the news we shouldn't be so quick with the harsh statements and you know who you are. I for one am glad that this Mom thought of the effects of what a message like that could have on her daughter and tried to rectify the situation. Did it warrant a news story you asked? Only if this person had already tried all the other ways to fix it , but was met with brick walls and deaf ears. Sometimes folks in the government agencies that we pay for with our taxes have to know what is going on instead of sweeping it under the rug. "let those without sin cast the first stone" or "judge not, lest ye be judged: Matthew 7 are the verses that come to mind for the comments I have read so far. Thoughts anyone?

That is so stupid!!! A group of co-workers and I could not figure out what was wrong with the plate, and none of us females saw the word WHOR! I don't even know why this is news worthy and why any reporter would go as far as to take it to the DMV.

Seriously? We need to find randomly generated letters on a license plate offensive now? That's ridiculous. The DOR didn't DO this to that lady! They had no hidden agenda and they certainly had no motive in sending anything out to her. That's what it takes to offend someone. I wonder if she gets mad at the clouds if they make what she deems to be obscene shapes, of if the would sue the manufacturer of her toaster if it happened to create a random image on her toast that she found offensive? Where does this stop? Give me a break!

  • janie - 10 years ago

Wow. Really?! it's not even the letter O, it's the number zero. It's W, (letter) , H (letter) ZERO (number), dash, R (letter), 8 (number), X (letter). The state of Missouri does not use the letter O in license plates, instead uses the number zero (0). ALL MO (passenger) LICENSE PLATES ARE FOUR LETTERS AND TWO NUMBERS. And if she was soooo offended, why did she takes the plates? And then she's going to make her teenage daughter use the plates???!!! Now that's offensive. It's disturbing that this even made the news. this is not news. this is someone with a victim mentality desperately grasping for attention.

  • Love the Lord - 10 years ago

It is absolutely offensive. That is just how the devil works, it a subtle way. I wouldn't drive with them on my car either and certainly wouldn't want my teenage daughter driving around with them and having perverted men chasing her.

  • Connie - 10 years ago

My mind never seen an offensive word! I guess it depends on how an individuals mind works. I think it says something about the persons character that they interpreted something dirty from a random license plate.

  • Wilma Damlow - 10 years ago

When I glanced at it I saw WHO RATES? Like a personalized plate! I never saw a dirty word at all

  • Eric Jarvis - 10 years ago

this woman must be a hypochondriac and find EVERYTHING offensive,

  • penny - 10 years ago

REALLY !!!! dang i read it as who-R 8 x never even thought about WHORE omg ppl there are more important thing to worry about ( specially as fast as MO. drives) SMH

  • Lynn - 10 years ago

really this is what your worried about! this is ridiculous. I would have never seen this in the plate. Do something constructive with your mind. You just wanted to have your 1 min of fame.
