Indian film industry to date has produced only one superstar and that is Rajesh Khanna. 4 decades later when you watch his movies you can draw the comparison with what is going on in Indian cinema, which is complete trash and devoid of any message with filthy lyrics.
I think if you pick the best from 1 to 10 Kaka would be 1 to 10 and Dilip Kumar number 11.
Although, the statistical result indicates Amitabh as the leader, but I am for Rajesh Khanna and Dilip Kumar who ruled the celluloid in their own era's. While thespian Dilip was the king of emotions and tragedy during the late 40s through 50s and uptill mid 60s, it was primarily Rajesh Khanna who effectively stole the show from Dilip in late 60s. It is however, unfortunate that the stellar fame which earned Rajesh Khanna the title of Super Star was to last for only six years, i.e. from 1969 to 1974. Nevertheless, the soft, romantically cool and poignant acting talent of Rajesh Khanna is remarkably captured in memorable movies like Aradhana, Kati Patang, Amar Prem and Safar among many other hits. Although Rajesh Khanna's era was short lived, but his legacy has endured the test of time, as many of his fans still crave to watch his heart touching classic flicks resonating with his spell binding appeal and acting prowess.
