If they go waiterless, who will refill coffee, tea, or soft drinks etc. ?????

I like it. You can order when you are ready as opposed to waiting for someone to come to the table, especially if you are in a hurry. Also it might expedite your drink refill. You can never find your waiter when your coffee cup is empty
