Vitamins and minerals are important supplements in different conditions. I have found that ie Vitamin D deficiency is quite common, and supplementation with vit D3 is helpful. Iron, folate, also quite beneficial.

There are many supplements that are being proven beneficial—coenzyme Q10 supplementation decreases the likelihood of statin side effects & enhances vitamin E & other antioxidant activity. Magnesium helps replenish that lost through diuretics, H2 blockers, & PPI's. These are only a couple instances of benefits of supplements/vitamins. When we have UNBIASED studies not done by big pharma, who want all vitamins and supplements regulated so they can charge higher prices, I'll be more open to believing vitamins & supplements are not of benefit.
