I agree with you, I abhor serial killer books. I also don't enjoy reading "thriller" type books either. My favorites are old school style mysteries in the style of Ann Cleeves or Peter Robinson. I also do enjoy psychological novels as well, and I love mysteries set in historical times, such as those by Laura Wilson and Charles Todd which contain both historical and psychological components.
