I watched the segment of your show tonight regarding Is America ready for Paula Deen's return? You immediately opened with Paula Deen and the N-word. Will you please get the Paula Deen story accurate. Per your very network, CNN -Deen's accuser: This has never been about the N-Word by Melissa Gray, Jul 2, 2013. "This lawsuit has never been about the N-word," Jackson says in the statement, provided to CNN's Don Lemon by her lawyer, Matthew Billips. "It is to address Ms. Deen's patterns of disrespect and degradation of people that she deems to be inferior". In addition, in an interview dated October 2012, Deen discusses several topics with TimesTalk reporter Kim Severson. Deen talks about a plantation owed by distant ancestor. Deen uses "our and we" when speaking about the Civil War, the South as if she were there. She is careful not call the slaves her ancestor owned "slaves." Deen simply refers to them "blacks" or "these people" or "workers". Further, during the interview, Deen introduces a dear friend, Hollis Johnshon. Deen says that Johnson is "as black as this board" and invites him to join her on stage with "We can't see you standing in front of that dark board!" On June 25, 2013 your colleague, Piers Morgan invited Tavis Smiley to weigh in on the Paula Deen controversy. Tavis also referred to Deen's interview with Kim Severson. CNN did not show any of the video. Erin, when you are misinformed you do your guests and the viewing audience a disservice. I admonish you to do your homework. View the video I have referenced.
