I think we all have to appreciate that Michael has an uphill battle now to break free from his type cast character.
I am just as guilty as anyone whom is likely of frequenting this site when it comes down to looking at Michael and just knowing that his is Dexter.....
What I think Michael wants is the ability to be a dynamic artist and to grow both as an individual as well as an actor.
It would be very sad if Michael only returned to Dexter because he failed somehow to break free of the Characters grasp on him.
In a way Dexter IS Michael's very own Dark Passenger.
The way I see it is this situation could play out one of two ways...
1. Michael agrees to return for a short run final series or miniseries. Time frame in the next two years.
or
2. Due to required cast commitments to other projects, a spin off although desirable will not be possible.
This is the way I see it as is currently.

Man, this guy HAS to come back. This show is by far, supremely popular and amazing. The very first episode sucked me right in, and I'm sure it did it to everyone else. I couldn't stop until the very end, then realized we need more! This show deserves 6 out of 5 stars, an 11 out of 10, and then some. Michael C. Hall, you gotta come back for more!
