You are right is a player the leafs current NEED. He fits well into Randys systems and is good at both ends of the rink. Although, when i heard this "rumour" of what he is asking for, although I like him as a player, I immediately said NO WAY. If he realistically wants that kinda money, I HONESTLY think they should package him and reimer and IMPROVE the team.
But thats just me talking. As much as it may help the team having 2 starting caliber goaltenders I believe reimer and another (plus a 2nd or 3rd pick) could fetch a star player the leafs need. The leafs do not need to make any stupid moves, only those that will improve team by deadline. I would love for them to go into the summer and really make a pitch for not just a star player but someone who will actually help the team.
I think you have to sign this guy. We gave up picks to get this guy and good centers are hard to get in today's NHL. Hes a proven winner, local kid that is clutch and wants to stay long term. Would be very disappointed if we lost this guy and considering what we paid clarkson I'm sure the leafs and bolland can come to a fair deal.leafs should be trying to trade for kesler or pavelski (kadri/Gardner ,Percy ) bring back komarov for the playoffs, as for defense would love to have John Carlson from Washington and Gibson from Anaheim get on it leafs
