Is it OK for motorcycle magazines to show big splashy photos on the cover without telling you much about it?

Yes, I understand that the magazines need to attract as many readers as possible to make money, and beautiful photos of motorcycles will do that. However, they should have some people on their staff who research the bikes they so proudly display on their frontpage and post the specs that go with these bikes. I should say that a motorcycle magazine that does this would be of more interest to serious bikers. These bikers would then be more inclined to buy those magazines rather than the ones that only display fluff and no substance. And isn't selling more magazines precisely what the publishers want ?
