Do You Feel Sorry For Donald Sterling?

You can be a racist. you can even be a racist out loud. But when the backlash comes, be prepared. Newsflash: Jim Crow is dead. And no company or organization wants to be associated with someone espousing beliefs that would get a standing ovation at a Klan rally. And I'm just waiting for the "Freedom of Speech" crowd to chime in with their obtuse asses. Just loud and wrong for no good reason.

I don't feel sorry for him at all. I can see how, listening to the recordings, he sounds like a confused old man trying to hang on. But that confused old man has been racist for some time. Sterling was 31 when the Civil Rights Act was passed 50 years ago. He's had more than enough time to learn that these attitudes are wrong. At very least, he failed the first rule of White Privilege - you don't say this stuff out loud.
