Personally I think MARTIN SHORT would be perfect for the show. He is an all around entertainer and the man happens to be well educated and can speak on many many topics which comes in handy when you have guest who are in other fields and not just music or acting.

Many of the people mentioned in the article or the poll, have already been involved in some aspect of talk shows and they have all missed the mark, some worst than others.

Just because someone is in show business, does not make them eligible to do talk shows. Many times and all too often, most guest who come to these shows are very uncomfortable being interviewed. I have seen all too often where the host has to literally pull words out of their mouths because they become shell shocked in front of a live audience. Johnny Carson, David Letterman, and a few others such as Brabara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, Matt Lauer, Ann Curry, Jane Pauley and Natalie Morales ALL have the ability to change the dead space into something of substance on the fly and in a nanosecond which is critical in showbusiness especially in this type of format. Despite the fact that Letterman, Leno and Ferguson and the other Late Night Shows are pre-recorded for that evening, there is only so much you can edit from the tapes to fit into the time format they have allotted to them.
