I'm tired of politicians--and educators and employers--who only reach for tech-based solutions. Automation sounds great to them, but it often doesn't work, and it surely doesn't improve our community. Is safety in school zones important? Yes. As is safety at parks, playgrounds, and residential streets. Nassau's police force eats up most of the budget, but somehow I doubt the cameras will lead to any reduction in personnel costs. So what exactly are we getting here?
