Do you think it is possible to go from being childless not by choice to being childless by choice?

I've gone from childless not by choice to beyond childless by choice. I am alone by choice. Childless by choice was actually rather easy for me, because I've always thought I would be a bad father. Then I realized the only reason I wanted to be a father was to prove I was better father than my father, which is not a good reason to have a kid. Alone by choice has been harder. A pretty lady or a happy couple is still a kick in the gut sometimes. But I think I'm just too messed in the head to have a happy relationship with a woman, and I am finding I can be very happy by myself.

I've shifted my feeling of sadness being child free, to a feeling of gratitude, being a mom to my four-legged children. As I've grown older, I appreciate my life & all the gifts I've been given.

Geneva, keep writing! I love your work.
