How on earth has Smalling been called up, he is so bad. I would like to see if he could even do 8 kick-ups. Baines is very unproven a high level and even in the domestic games against the top teams he falls short. Cole is the Only World Class player consistently for England and is left out. Lampard will be good to come on later in games. He will still play rigid, old fashioned 4-4-2 with Milner in the team. The best we have played in a long time was when we beat Brazil 2-1 with the more modern 4-3-3. Next game (San Marino doesn't count) was qualifier against Montenegro and we went back to negative 4-4-2 and I have never seen us so bad. Hodgson is NOT the man and this tournament is unfortunately going to show us up. On a better note Cahill has come on loads this season, Gerard is back to his best and Rooney will be helped by having a few decent players around him unlike at Utd.

barkley's inclusion is the best decision that roy hodson's had made in the england selection. let Rooney lead the attack with those couple of youths around in raheem sterling and OX making dizzling runs. i think overall Roy Hodson has selected the best players in the eyes of all england fans. they all deserve to be on the plane to brazil and believe that with enthusiasm they are going to do well... most definitely...

Rooney is a waste of space and unfit. Look at his performance against Bayern should have taken Carol or Cole.-

I agree rooney has done nothing as striker internationally I believe carrol would be more effective even more so jermaine defoe hes out there for t shirt sales. although he would make a perfect holding midfielder yes in the squad but not as a attacker. Sorry rooney you lack flare and creativity on a international level his track record proves this

Not entirely happy with Glen Johnson and I hope Jones is fit, because he has got a injury at the moment. SO HOPE HE IS FIT ENOUGH TO PLAY

Its a decent squad, made up of youngsters, but I fear they were introduced to the squad TWO years late
the top teams (were not one of them )will have too much class for them,
his (hodgsons ) biggest mistake is picking ROONEY he is not worth risking he has shown he cant play
against top opposition,,and will only score against mediocre teams . BR.
