My granddaughters love this show they even have all there toys not fair for the little ones

It just shows how unprofessional mark Scott and the abc have become.
The abc as a professional organization should respond by saying it will try and absorb the cuts without impacting on programming but failing this it would look at the least popular or duplicate programming first in accordance with charter.
This threatening behavior is childish and mark Scott should be sacked if it continues to use the organization he heads as a mouthpiece for lobbying.

Assuming Mark Scott really did target Peppa Pig instead of a more wasteful area of spending as some sort of political stunt, it'd likely just reappear on one of the commercial channels.

This voting pattern just shows the low level of thinking in the Australian community. It is absurd that the majority prefer a mindless kids show to the important intellectual discussion on Q&A. No wonder we are known as the bogan society. Had your tats done lately mate ?
Fiona - 10 years ago
Peppa Pig is all over YouTube so we don't need to pay the ABC to screen it. (Wasn't it the Bananas in Pyjamas that needed saving anyway?)
But I agree with everyone else, Q&A should definitely go. Like most of Australia, I don't watch it. I can't be bothered tuning into the cesspit of hatred and negativity.

The Governnent don't axe tv programs. The ABC must consider its audience to be quite daft.
If money is an issue for the ABC they shoukx consider a wage review of their staff. The amount the tax payer is paying to some of these presenters is astronomical!
How many hours does Tony Jones put in for his 355k a year job!
Lysander - 10 years ago
Get rid of Tony Jones, Phillip Adams, Jon Faine, Julia Beard, Fran Kelly, Waly, Alberici and all other covert Green supporters. There's tens of millions there a year already.
Then shut down ABC News 24, sell Ultimo and actually provide JUST news to regional Australians via radio as per usual and the 7pm news. See you later Triple J and Double J (no need for taxpayer to fund all of these "services?" when pensioners, schools, hospitals are far more important than an agency which sounds more like a Labor Party Conference than an independent, transparent and accountable news agency.

But how will the children be kept happy without Q&A?
Rodger Phillips - 10 years ago
The Government is transparent, they target the shows that just might criticize them, neither show should be axed, Political Commentary is valuable to the nation in the same way that educational shows are valuable to the development of children in early childhood,
shows like Q&A help the nation grow, today's Pepper Pig viewers are tomorrows Q&A Viewers, and the Government knows this and would rather see us NOT asking questions and thinking like mature adults.
I know I sound like a bit of a Nutter, but I sound more sane than those calling the shots.
keep them both,
Gemma of quiet town!! - 10 years ago
I love q&a... But I'm sorry Tony Jones, your mediating voice of reason does little to calm my brood, as only a family of talking pigs can.
Darwin Opa - 10 years ago
My grandson loves Peppa Pig. Keep it and get rid of Q and A. Not really an issue, is it. ABC, you scrap Peppa Pig at your peril.
Trac3y - 10 years ago
Leave Peppa pig on and take off that crap 'little princess' that teaches children to act like brats and disrespect others! It's utter bull.
peppita - 10 years ago
I can't believe my eyes!
You can't compare Peppa pig is for little ones and very entertainment for us too. You can't kill there illusions just like that; they love this program take away Q and A, go gabba, the hairy family or the grandpa on the pocket.
I think Australia TV should take away all the Violence programs coming from North America and some other part of the World because people are imitating down under.

The ABC really need to get their priorities right. Of all the shows they could pick to get rid of, and they chose Peppa Pig? I love Peppa Pig and so does my 4 year old. Please reconsider.
Judy Wesche - 10 years ago
My grandson will be devastated if Pepper Pig is taken off, even I would sooner it than Q n A
Long Xuyen - 10 years ago
Poor questionnaire design. I want to keep both of these programs. Watching Pyne squirm is the same level of entertainment for adults as Peppa is for 3 year olds.
Nancy Evans - 10 years ago

Hi Please leave Peppa pig on ABC My grandson loves watching Peppa pig. It would be so cruel to take it off when so many children love watching it. If i had a say in budget cuts i would boot Abbott out of goverment for the shameful way he s treating australian people.
Chris - 10 years ago
Get rid of Yo Gabba! and Hoopla Doopla. Those are 2 of the worse shows I've seen on ABC.
Peppa4eva - 10 years ago
Leave Peppa alone its a great show for kids. There are plenty of other "DUMB" shows that could go. My granddaughter loves it
That Old Stone In The Shoe - 10 years ago
