Well, it certainly looks like many Central Hudson/Fortis
workers (and familiy members) are extra busy today, voting
how "happy" they are so they can keep their jobs!! Where
are all these "happy yes" voters when we loose power from
ice or wind storms?

It's disgraceful that some Hudson Valley elected officials
have been gung-ho about accepting campaign contributions
from Central Hudson. It wasn't a lot of money, nor illegal,
but it would have meant something to voters and taxpayers.
It would have let them know who is, and isn't, two-faced and
hypocritical. The fact that some current elected officials then
pushed for a 3.75% fuel tax, to include electricity, is about as
phony as it gets. And, no, mandates are not entirely to blame;
mismangement, cronyism, and business inexperience, is.

Its time to " get out of Dodge" as they used to say in the "B" grade Western movies of yesteryear.
I grew up in the 1960s. It was an exciting time full of promise. Yes, we had the Cold War and worries about Communism...and the Viet Nam war...but we went to the Moon and saw the 1964 Worlds Fair. I believed the LIE...."to get a good job...get a good education" and worked my way thru college. I had a career in Industry for 15 years and when the economy went into the toilet bowl struggled at many junk jobs. I never thought I would be thinking about " getting out of Dodge"...but many of the Investment web sites are encouraging Americans to do just that...seek a country where the taxes are lower and you are welcome. In the Socialist States of America ( as of 2008) I don't feel welcome...nor can I survive on my Social Security ....which is not an entitlement ...BUT MY MONEY that I paid in to the gov't for over 45 years....I have 6 friends who moved to Mexico. They are happy and can rent a house for $600 per month. You can't get a room in the Hudson Valley for that. There are web sites which give you tips on International Living ( thats one of them), and investment sites that encourage investment over seas...before Obama takes your money... My wife is not too enthused about leaving the country. We may move south to North or South Carolina...but I want to move where I can live on my Social Security. New Yorkers who don't work for the City, State or Federal gov't ( many making $100,000 per year or more) can afford to live here...but peons like me...the former Middle Class will vote with our feet. ......by moving overseas or down south....yes...with the rate hike proposed....by Central Hudson, and Socialist Governor Cuomo..."its time to get out of Dodge"...

Too much money WASTED on tracking customer usage, comparing it to your neighbors ... then mailing it to you. I now know what it looks like it in the envelope BEFORE I pull it out. It goes in "File 13".
Who cares how much a person is using ... as long as the customer pays their bill on time.
