Amalgamation problems:
The the cost to the ratepayers through the loss of prime community assets through forced sales to pay for this action plus rate increases necessary to effect these changes.

There has and continues to be a total lack proven benefits and business planning//modelling (from government) for the Ratepayer to absorb as part of his//her//their decision-making process.

The elitist (top-down) approach used by the Minister for Local Government (Tony Simpson) and the State government to ramrod through its' Agenda has been and continues to be totally undemocratic to the electorate.

The process has been highly confusing to the public as government's direction has constantly changed since the inception of its' orchestrated amalgamation and boundary changes proposal. This "shifting of base" approach has resulted in community confusion. Was this the governments intention?

There is no provision in the Local Government Act 1995 (WA) (LG Act) giving the minister a general power to direct local governments on any aspect of their powers and functions under the LG Act”.
