It's insanity. Who is going to enforce this law? Making a law that you can't enforce is what you call stupid, insane and this would be dictatorial. Did anyone ever think that talking about smoking and smoking bans all the time is making everyone, adults standing up against people who are trying to tell them what to do and trying to make their choices for them and children trying to do what other people have the nerve to tell them and their parents what is good for them. Keeping the bans on the news and radio all the time is stupidity. People want to know what all this fuss is about. Dictators. Why don't you mind your own business???

I dont think this will work as kids will do what they need to in order to get what they want... may see an increase in robberies because kids will need their smokes... is that a good thing?? I think not... and if they are going to ban selling smokes to anyone born in 2000 or later are they going to do that with alcohol as well?? Look at how many lives are lost each year around the world do to drinking and driving, shouldnt alcohol be banned then too?? I think instead of banning the sale of smokes to any one born in 2000 or later they should raise the age to 21 to be able to buy both alcohol and cigarettes like other places have in place

I don't understand why people are against this. This approach will work because majority of smokers do start smoking from young teens. Myself it was at age 16, I started because my friends were smoking, and everyone was doing it almost as a way to rebel.

Now stop, if none of these people ever had access to buy these cigarettes no one would be smoking in high school. Never having the urge to go and bum cigarettes off someone. Personally I wish I had never started smoking, worst decision of my life.

If this had been in effect I would have never started, and if you nip it before they even start you will have no problem snuffing the urge.

Sorry but we have laws in place to prevent under age purchase of them, we have laws saying where you can and cant do it. We tax them more than ANY other product!! We have such HATE towards anyone who lights up. But yet we LOWER the cost of drinking IN THE AFTERNOON, we give junkies a safe place to shoot up, and applaud them for being "Safe" when using their drugs. We talk about what drugs should be legal, but the SECOND someone stands up for their right to smoke, they are instantly seen as the scum of the earth! Should we also ban booze to anyone born after 2000?? We could save COUNTLESS lives due to drunk driving, toxic death, liver failure, alcoholics. While we're at it, lets ban fast food...can't have kids turning into fat adults! Lets also ban sugar!! Too many kids with cavities! And lets not forget about gluten!! Gluten is the new secret killer! lol Sorry but it's a PERSONAL decision...not a government one!

i dont think its going to work.. children or teenagers do what they are told not to do, by banning smoking to younger ages they will want it more and do what they can to get it.. such as now a days, not allowed to sell to people under 18 in most places but yet there are alot of under age smokers, because they will do what they can to get it..

We should be banning fast food places as well. If people want to kill themselves let them. Population control people!

I think this is just ridiculous...I know as a young teenage... if I wanted cigarettes bad enough, I found a way to get them. Kids don't follow the rules, they are young and if they want something they will find a way, so banning them will not stop the problem of new smokers! Its human nature to try things, even when and if they are bad for us. I no longer smoke, going on 12 years now, and I have no desire to start up again. The reason I quit was for health reasons, and the smell of the chemicals off the tobacco was terrible. Look at the situation with all the drugs that are available today, and with all the information and education on them, kids are still doing them, taking them up, for whatever reason!!! I can't see a law or banning is going to stop anyone from doing anything.....!!!
