I have always thoroughly enjoyed the Dexter series but preferred that the series ended on a happier note. I thought since he didn't feel the need to kill (Vogels son), in the end he had found redemption, however instead had he killed that character then his sister would have lived. I would have also preferred that Deb didn't die and there seemed to be some unanswered loose ends, however there is always hope that the series or characters could return in some way?
The acting from all the cast is superb and Michael C Hall is an outstanding as the lead and I can understand, from interviews I've seen, how playing a complex character such as Dexter, could be troubling for him.
