We my wife and I experienced the speed limit change on Hwy #5 Kamloops to Hope. I don't have a problem with the speed change I have driven to my ability and road conditions for 62 years . What we saw on our drive home to Delta from Edmonton were drivers who don't have the experience or ability to drive that Hwy at that speed. Drivers that could navigate at that speed were having problems with drivers trying to . We saw a police officer trying to slow on coming drivers going over 140 km down a long hill while doing speed checks from the other direction putting himself in jeopardy . Don't think this speed change was well thought out. Are our roads engineered for that speed with ability and skill of most drivers in mind. Some drivers have the ability to race down our Hwy's at high speeds most don't. Keep it simple and meet with the people who are on the front line when it comes to speed and ability of the average drivers have and plan limits accordingly . Just saying.
