Do you think the private sector should step forward when the city has to cut services?

It depends on the "service" in question. The city should figure out what it can do and what it should outsource. Recreation and tourism services, sure. Police and Fire, no. The city needs to be more fiscally responsible and stop getting involved in ridiculous ventures like power plants and such. It is going to be a long time (if ever) before we the people of Great Falls are over that one.

It is nice that they do it but if the private sector continues to bail the city out of its obligations, soon the private sector will be paying for everything instead of the city adjusting its budget.
There are plenty of ways to trim the fat off the city budget -- now would be a good time to start!

Yes, IF the private sector feel that the service is needed. If not, let it die. We cant fund EVERYTHING for EVERYONE! Priorities, people.
