Canada has spectacular athletes and I don't want to disrespect any of them. But soccer(football) is just not our game. Our women's team is awesome but the men are way behind. It's not our player's, we have great player's, I believe it's the people above our player's. We have Canadian management picking, coaching and telling our player's how to play. It's great that we have these people "guiding" our player's but shouldn't we have people that have been around the game way longer than our program leading our talent.

What a silly idea. Sure let's spend $10 billion on an event a very small minority of Canadians give a crap about. This is especially silly considering the poor state of our public health care and education systems, to name just two. I am curious though to read the comments supporting this argument, should be interesting.

you have got to be kidding with all the yes votes. I for one would want ZERO tax dollars spent on this one
