Goat Of The Week For July 18, 2014
Major League Baseball - while celebrating Derek Jeter during Tuesday's All Star Game, neglected to even once mention the recent passings of Tony Gwynn & Don Zimmer.
Adam Wainwright - the St. Louis Cardinals pitcher had to apologize for a joke about "grooving" a pitch to Jeter when the social media world didn't find any humor in his remark.
Carmelo Anthony - the Knicks star kept the team and its fans on pins and needles before finally announcing on Sunday that he would stay put, rather than signing with the Chicago Bulls or Los Angeles Lakers.
LeBron James - left Miami after 4 seasons, returing to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Pat Riley - after losing Lebron to Cleveland, the Heat president called the signing of free agent forward Luol Deng "one of the most important...we have ever had in the history of the franchise."
Plaxico Burress - the former Giants wide receiver (now working for ESPN) was asked his favorite memories of San Francisco's Candlestick Park and, along with citing Eli Manning's first victory on the road, said he'd never forget the famous over-the-shoulder catch by Willie Mays in the 1954 World Series (which happened at the Polo Grounds here in NYC, almost 6 years before Candlestick opened for business).
Juan Pablo Montoya - used an expletive and threatened fellow IndyCar driver Ed Carpenter after Carpenter caused him to crash out of Saturday's race in Iowa.
