It should have started ten years or more ago, but great it will be outstanding.

Not a very responsible government to waste such a large amount of our funds on this when our highways are in desperate need of repair, (safety). Our roads, our health system, our schools should take priority over this. Misappropriated public funds to leave his mark on our state, I call for the sacking of any government who wastes our money like this

So we haven't even paid the interest on the money owed for the Joondalup rail line, don't even mention The Mandurah line and the quays project and we are forking out for another extravagant project. So how is this not mismanagement?

What a waste of money. Do we really need another stadium?
Suppose this is where al our money for education and the future is going... somewhere to watch middle age men fight over balls.

Pretty nondescript. For that amount of money, you would want something which doubles as a tourist attraction, not another bland white circle. They could also try harder to get double duty out of it, eg by including emergency housing within the structure, or a community vegetable garden.

Personally I think that the new stadium is a complete waste of time and money. The government can approve crap like this but can't put money back into the places that are needed like schools and hospitals!

Great now get on with it and keep the public informed as to what they are paying for, it should have been built 10 years ago once the Shockers got up and running, now pull your finger out and lets get on with it.

I do love it but I will say 60000 won't be enough seating.Should be minimum 75000 so in ten years they don't have to be redeveloped again .As the saying goes,do it once do it well

If it is no rectangular I will never go and watch a game of rugby. In the past I have received free tickets to Subi Oval and regretted going as I was 50 m away from the game and I was down near the ground. Colin Barnett if you think rugby fans both codes will embrace a circular stadium - test match or not - keep dreaming.

No matter how good it will look, the money should be used to house, feed and look after the sick and needy. That should always come before entertainment.

Why does it have to have an aboriginal theme

Jane and Les: Agree with the both.
The AFL should be putting in the greater percentage as they will gain the most. And let's not forget that only a small percentage of West Australians will attend matches at the stadium, yet the WHOLE State pays for it....curious state of affairs.

The Football and other major sport businesses should be paying for half of this because they are the ones who will financially benefit from this stadium. Lets face it the AFL is NOT short of money and CAN afford it
