When I was a kid we used to summer on Cape Cod. There was a great farm stand on the way that sold the sweetest sweet corn ever. We always stopped there and bought dozens of ears for our first cookout. Great memories of family fun and summer grilling.
Your danger dogs are great on the grill! I serve them on homemade buns with a pepper, onion, tomato relish. YUM! Since I work I like to cook more then one meal on the grill. My Santa Maria Tri Tip & Santa Maria Beans are very good for summer grilling.
Any of the above. We love grilling out but its not just a summer thing for us, we do it year round. My husband is retired Army and even stationed in Alaska we cooked out in the winter.
We make our own rubs, marinades, and sauces for chicken and ribs so we always get a different flavor for the good old grilled corn-on-the-cob! Of course, it wouldn't be a family BBQ without a sticky sweet s'more finish!
This entire list would make an amazing cookout!
This is making me hungry lol
I love grilled ribs and chicken with my own BBQ sauce. Yum!
Definitely burgers, sweet corn, potato salad and watermelon. Also strawberries and blueberries. I love that summer fruits make it so easy to eat healthy in the summertime (and to offset all that potato salad and burgers...) :) Thanks for the opportunity to win one of your books!
We actually grill all year long, but I love fresh sweet corn and BBQ Baked beans, and.........
Nothing beats a cook-out with great food, good friends and family. Nothing beats a delicious mystery like a Cleo Coyle Coffeehouse Mystery.
Love the opportunity to win one of your wonderful books! Thank you! Happy summer!
THE most important of these (to our daughter) is the Sweet Corn!! But I pretty much love EVERYTHING on the list!! Summer BBQing ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Next BBQ we will be trying your coffee marinade, I can't wait :-)
Now I know what I want to do this weekend!
The most important ingredient is "Family and Friends" (including the 4 leg variety)!
I really enjoy your books. You're a wonderful author. Hoping to get my husband to do the coffee marinated steak. We're planning on a birthday cookout this weekend.
So many awesome choices! Last barbeque I ate, laid in my hammock and read!
So glad you have another book coming soon. I have missed reading your books.
Our family likes just about everything on the list above and we rotate what we grill but we don't do a lot of fish on the grill unfortunately as some of us have allergies. But we do love lobster steamed in a pot ON the grill along with plenty of steamer clams from Maine or Cape Cod and many times we do a Clam Boil with the potatoes, onions, Portuguese sausage or Kielbasa, along with the clams. Nothing like a real New England Clam Boil. We make homemade clam chowder and clam fritters too to go along with almost every cookout/BBQ. This year my daughter has taken over for me with the cooking due to my health and healing problems from a series infection and I surely do miss doing all this.
Next year, God willing.
Thank you for the great information and interesting postings each day.
Summer time is grillin' time!
Hot dogs, hamburgers, baked beans, and potato salad! My Saturday lunch every week of the year. From April to November, we grilled the hamburgers and hotdogs. Marvelous memories.
I love watermelon on a hot summer day.
I do so love a coffee marinated ribeye!
a cookout sounds great right about now
Plus baked beans and macaroni salad!
The only thing I would add to this list is family and fun : )
Wish I could have picked more than 4 as I also like hot dogs, coleslaw and ribs
Definitely burgers and ribs for the carnivores and any kind of veggies --lots of them--taste great on the grill. But the potato salad is a definite must. It's my mom'r recipe from years ago and everyone loves it and the memory of mom/Grammy/great Grammy ! Now I also must add here that you guys have some terrific recipes and we love the ones where you add coffee as an ingredient. Never thought of coffee as anything but a drink before, but I've learned more from your books than I could have imagined. Hope this series continues for ever and ever!!
4th of July was like a big family reunion when I was growing up. It was the best picnic ever with every dish listed above so it was hard to pick just 4. Forget the beer though. Make mine a gin and tonic and for dessert a cup of coffee with a plate full of cakes and cookies!
We just attended one where the host prepared the best ribs I've ever had--so many choices. I'm game for about anything when it comes to a cookout!
My favorite cookout was the summer before my husband passed away. All the family was there and some of my adult kid's in-laws too. We cracked open a bottle of wine that my granddaughter had corked in her summer apprenticeship to a vineyard and toasted each other. My son-in-law did the grilling and we all contributed the side dishes. We ate outside under the huge maple tree in the backyard while various family pets chased each other and the younger kids around the yard. We all knew my husband did not have much time left because of his illness and it remains one of the best days of summer past.
I really wanted to check more of these items. To finish I'd like a cup of coffee and a piece of coconut cake.
I love bbq's and I love steak so I'm definitely going to try that recipe.. YUM!!!
Love BBQs. We are currently redoing our back yard so now cookouts right now. Can't wait until the work is done and we can fire up that grill. thanks for opportunity to win a copy of your new book!
I can't wait to try the Coffee-Marinated Steak. And thanks for always making your recipes available as a PDF. It makes it so easy to save and print them when I need them.
We grill all summer long, it's my favorite thing to do in the summer ! email@example.com
I have all your paperback books thus far and look forward to each of them, thanks for giving us the fun of a contest! Love those grilled burgers and brats too!
Burgers, beer, baked beans and watermelon...all served poolside! Good times! Doesn't hurt that I live in FL and can do this most of the year! It's rough, but someone has to do it! :)
When do we eat? :)
I love having family cookout with all the extended family.
that was my 4th of July menu, burgers, dogs, pioneer woman dr. pepper ribs, homemade baked beans. martinis, homemade raspberry lime rickeys. ice cream cake.
I didn't see that smores was one of the choices; I didn't get down that far; chose four before I got there! LOL
I forgot to mention that you. Needed to have brisket and pork loins on your poll. We love to put them on the back of the pit and let them smoke.
I love all of the recipes from your books. I don't drink coffee but I love to read and imagine the odors from your shop. Coffee always smells good to me. Can't wait to read your next book.
I already have your book, but I wanted to comment since I really enjoy your posts and books.
I love Summer BBQ'S just about anything goes
Having a family get together at a local park in a month, you've started me thinking about the menu.
Plus beer....swimming pool and family and friends
