For younger people I am trying to reach I use text messages. For middle aged folks I use email. For the senior citizens I use the telephone. There is no one way to reach everyone.
I find that the type of communication depends a lot on the age of the person I'm communicating with. For example, I always call my mom, grandmother, great aunt etc. the people my age I text/iMessage a lot.
