David Livelsberger, Eastern York: The senior running back had a night to remember, rushing for 275 yards on 16 carries while scoring three touchdowns in Eastern’s 35-14 win over Columbia. Livelsberger scored all three second-half touchdowns for the Golden Knights.
Dez Jones, Dallastown: Dallastown’s linebacker had a nose for the football Friday, recovering three fumbles in the Wildcats’ 35-14 win over Lancaster Catholic. The Wildcats forced five turnovers on the evening, winning the season opener on their new turf field.
Kobe Wansel, Gettysburg: Wansel was clutch for the Warriors, scoring the game’s first touchdown (a 93-yard kickoff return) and the contest’s final one (45-yard reception) in Gettysburg’s 44-41 victory over South Western. It was the Warriors first game as members of the YAIAA.
Colton Dull, Bermudian Springs: Really, this award could go to the Eagles rushing attack in general and specifically the offensive line. Bermudian rumbled for 395 rushing yards as a team in its 34-7 win over New Oxford with Dull hammering away for 168 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. His teammate, Briton Shelton, also went to work, rushing for 140 yards and two scores during the Week 1 win.
Bryshon Sweeney, William Penn: Although the Bearcats lost a heartbreaker - a 26-25 final to Reading - the running back Sweeney rushed for 172 yards and two touchdowns.
