Should developers be free to create smoke-free apartment blocks?

Smoking should be banned in apartments. I just purchased a unit recently (only a strata of 9) and I cannot relax on the balcony nor have my windows open of an evening of a hot summer's day. I thought buying in a quiet area and next to a school would solve the previous issue of not being able to open my window at night due to noise pollution from motor vehicle traffic however if there are smokers in the building I can never escape from an uncomfortable night's sleep. Being on the strata committee I would like to definitely put in place regulation to prevent smoking in the building.

A good idea if you are a smoker is to go outside and smoke so your home does not smell like smoke BUT, your smoke then goes into everyone else's homes around you and now their home's fill with smokey air. There are plant you can buy Google NASA air scrubbing plants. These plants make a dramatic difference to the air quality in your home. I personally have some of these, the ones that filther all 5 chemicals and they work. So I think all new apartments should have a variety of these planted to improve the air quality. And new homes being built would also benifit from there being plants growing that scrub the air. My home is a much happier place now I have these. My eyes don't sting anymore my throat is less lined with mucus and I have been less stressful as I am not having micro nicotine withdrawals and head aches. Yes there is something home owners can do, smokers and none smokers alike, plants that scrub your air clean! I wish I had known about these years earlier.
