Cadillac ATS: Manual Or Automatic?

My 1960 Corvette is a 4 speed manual, my 2001 camaro is a 6 speed manual, but I got an ATS with automatic so my wife could drive it. It's a great car -- but BORING to drive. Assuming the ATS manual is available with the 3.6 liter....

Oh come on, guys! Really? There shouldn't even be an automatic option. Remember when you were young. Remember when you got into your muscle car and fired it up? Even if you never had one, I'm sure you heard one fire up in the Safeway lot and said, "Dang, I want one of those!" This is my list of rebuttals to the automatic transmission.

Apart from the fact that Top Gear has never test driven an automatic transmission super car,
    1. LESS FUN - No explanation required.
    2. MAGNESIUM PADDLE SHIFTERS - In the purest sense, which is what speed and handling are for, steering columns and wheels are for steering, not anything else.
    3. REMOTE START VIA KEY FOB AND ONSTAR APP - You didn't need it when your ticker was young, you don't need it now; plus it robs the thrill of the power up.
    4. ALLOWS FOR ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL - Yeah, since when did you need a nanny to know how to drive?
    5. MORE CONVENIENT IN TRAFFIC - Granted, but in the back of your mind you're still smiling on the open road or off the line; and really, nothing awesome ever came easy - or conveniently.
    6. AWD OR RWD - You don't drift in AWD anyway!
    7. POWER-SAPPING TORQUE CONVERTER - See Number 1.
    8. SHIFTS CAN BE DENIED - See Number 1.
    9. BUILT-IN SNOW/WET MODE - Knowing how to steer is no indicator of whether you can drive.

On second thought, go ahead and neuter your ATS. You didn't deserve the thrill in the first place. My dad always said, "You buy a car or truck for its intended use." Well, obviously, the only reason you're buying it is for status, and you have no intention of using it how it's meant to be used.

    Cheers, Y'all.
