We already know what would happen to Mike Vick if he ever asked for a pardon.

*long sigh* Marky Mark has been my boo since his Calvin Klein days, but f- him! Only a white kid can get away with committing hate crimes left and right and only spend 45 days in jail and go on to have a successful career. I agree with Cappadonna that people should be able to move on once they've paid their debt to society, but I also think that he should have at least apologized to the people he tormented.

This all just bothers me because the same people I saw on my social media pages saying Mike Brown deserved getting shot for (possibly) stealing a pack of cigarillos are defending Wahlberg's actions. Plus, he's always said what he did had nothing to do with race, but come on! Was he chasing white kids down chanting kill whitey, or calling them slant-eyed crackers?! It's so frustrating to see people chalk all of his behavior up to being "just a troubled youth" but black children are never given the same amount of leniency. Who knows what things Mike Brown could have accomplished in his lifetime if he had been given even a QUARTER of the leeway Wahlberg had.

*finishes rant and adds Marky Mark's name to my list of problematic faves*

Damn this lack of correction. I meant to say " Markie Mark DIDNOT cover up his crimes like Cosby and Allen".

Yeah, it should be expunged - but not because Wahlberg (aka the White Will Smith) is a former pop rapper, successful b-movie actor and TV producer. I think it should be cleaned because quite frankly we are an overly punitive culture. For a so called Christian nation - we love to punish, punish and punish the guilty (and sometimes the not actually guilty) until they drop, whether or not they've paid restitution by time or treasure.

I spent the better part of my early 20's involved in lots of activism. One issue I still care deeply about is re-instituting voting rights for ex-felons and overall prison reform. I just believe that once you do your time and pay your debt to society - that's it. Your debt is cleared and you should be allowed to move on. But that's not the case in America.

Mark Wahlberg in his mid 40's ain't the hard knock Markie Mark at 16. This is a Bill Cosby or Woody Allen issue - where he's used his money to cover up and escape his crimes. He served time - almost 30 years ago.

This is no different than cats getting angry because Mike Tyson now has one man show and a weird ass show on Adult Swim. According to some people, Tyson should be spend the rest of his life in jail or at least with a brand of "RAPIST" on his chest. Or people complaining about Micheal Vick playing football again after he went to jail for 2 years, paid fines and is forever banned from looking a dog. As one of my mentors in politics once said - we actually don't believe in rehabilitation in America, we only believe in punishment.

    Fuck Mark Wahlberg, no disrespect.

This is what happened with the man he attacked, and it was not his first felony offense.

"Suddenly Lam, a Vietnamese resident of Dorchester, was approached by Wahlberg, then 16, who was carrying “a large wooden stick, approximately five feet long and two to three inches in diameter,” according to court documents. Wahlberg yelled at Lam, calling him “a Vietnam fucking shit,” and then hit him in the head with the stick. Lam was knocked out cold." He lost sight in the eye that Wahlberg bashed in.

He also attacked another group of black people,

One of the first felonies occurred on the afternoon of June 15, 1986. That day, Jesse Coleman, a 12-year-old black boy, and his older brother and sister were walking back to their home in Dorchester. Wahlberg, 15, and three friends began following the group on bicycles, when one of the boys shouted at them, “We don’t like black niggers in the area, so get the fuck away from the area,” according to court documents. The three black kids began running away, and Wahlberg and his friends chased them on their bikes. During the chase, Wahlberg and his friends began chanting, “Kill the nigger, kill the nigger,” while hurling rocks at their victims. Thankfully, the Coleman kids reached a Burger King, and Wahlberg and his amateur biker gang rode off.

The only reason he is asking for a pardon is because he want to build more Wahlburger franchises across the country and he wants to be able to obtain a liquor license. He is only seeking this pardon because he wants to be able to make more money. All he should be doing is thanking the state for being so being so lenient to known drug dealer with multiple felonies. He only spent 42 days in jail for what he did to that man and now he wants even more from the legal system. That man lost an eye because of Wahlberg.

I actually believe that Mark has changed and may have learned from his mistakes but the ITWAN levels on this stories is off the charts.
