I wish one of the options had been "mystified." Maddux seems to be in high demand and well-respected around the league, but I don't see any sharpening of tools among the Rangers' staff, under his watch. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt since this will be the first full year he won't have Nolan Ryan hanging around, undercutting his influence - and maybe some of the less hard-headed pitchers (Darvish, anyone?) will actually start listening to him.
