Who do you blame for Alberta's current economic woes?

I lost my job in the oil/gas industry. I look in the mirror and personally I see a guy who made big money, overspent, never saved a dime, bought all the big boy toys, the trailer for camping, new vehicles and vacations to sunnier climates in the winter. I was spoiled by my new found wealth that I never had before the oil industry was vibrant. I spoiled my family. Everyone has phones and we have lost the communication among our family as we are slaves to texting, facebook and twitter. Our present day lifestyle and way of life is not unlike my friends or neighbours. I set a bad example and take the blame of not putting away money for tough financial times that do come in cyclical ways, well documented in history. We are on a strict budget and have to personally cutback our spending in order to pay the mortgage etc. and maintain a different lifestyle that we lived in the past when times were good. I am not saying my story is any different than others, but what I am saying is, we Albertans for the most part are spoiled and must adjust our financial lifestyle and way of life until these tough times pass, which they will. Shifting blame is a useless waste of time and energy when we should all look in the mirror and make personal and family adjustments to get us through this crisis. Management of finances start at home. Government management of finances no matter who is steering the ship, also starts at home with government employees who are all part of those who provide the service to run this province in all areas of management. Mismanagement will not be resolved by a change of government. The problem will still be there. This government or whoever is the next government running this province has to address the problems. They are not going away. They must get back on track managing not only our resources, but the departments that run and provide the services.

Once again we the tax payers are getting the shaft. For 40 years plus ALL of those money thieving .....
They keep us in poverty. We are such GOOD LITTLE CANADIANS. Take it up the _________ and keep on smiling.
All of the government should take a pay reduction , no buy-outs, no severance's.
And when they QUIT OR WALK ACROSS THE FLOOR, i FEEL THAT THEY DON'T GET ANYTHING. just like they make the tax payers.

These are RED RED Tories. They run as Conservatives because they could never be elected on their own true colors. Redford fooled the Unions in Alberta in the last election with a blank cheque so they would elect her. Now they are going to have to help pay the piper & they don't like it. It was okay with them when they swung the vote to put the Redford government into power because they were getting raises. Union workers were fooled by their leaders too & now they will be taking the cuts with the rest of us, except that most of us didn't get a raise the last few years when apparently everyone in Alberta was living with the best of times. Most taxpayers hadn't felt that yet!! Now, because of greed & waste we are all back in debt instead of receiving interest payments for our resource investments.

Geez, Jimmy, just when things were humming like so well you go and stick your big ol' foot right in your kisser.

Looks like maybe you're not quite as in touch with Albertans as you claimed to be. You wouldn't have made your comments today if you really had a clue. YOUR government wasted $40 billion over the last decade. Don't for a second suggest that we were "living beyond our means". There was never a revenue problem. Your government was spending beyond "our" means.

Give tax breaks to oil companies making huge profits off our resources, cater to the rich and waste taxpayer's money on election stunts and blame us for the mess your party put us in? I think you'll like private life Mr Prentice.

How rude and inconsiderate for Prentice to say what he had said. I personally had no idea I had taken part in the economy's downfall. New news to me!

Albertans - please voice your opinion whenever possible. Collectively we can ALL be heard.
