Everyone enjoys Custom Scenarios because the make your game interesting and fresh… But they do not belong in a competitive tournament environment. If you look at any other competition, there are three things which are unchangeable:
1. The Rules
2. The Field of Play
3. Scoring Mechanisms
With Custom Scenarios, all of these tend to be variable. A truly competitive Tournament would have every table identical, and use only the Rulebook scenarios.
That said, gamers may not as a whole be interested in a pure competition.
