Is Suu Kyi Burma's best hope for democratic reform?

Aung San Suu Kyi is a strong symbolic figure that can unite the country behind ideals of strong and transparent governance. Her aptitude as a politician, however, doesn't seem to be quite up to the best standards. Someone else with more political experience may be better at implementing the policies that Myanmar needs to democratize. If she is not elected, however, I'm afraid that people will not trust the results of the election and therefore not trust the next elected leader or the actions by the government. The severe mistrust in governance in Myanmar is a massive obstacle to true democratic reform, and without a change in that trust I don't see true democratization as likely.

She still has the quality of Iron Lady. I believe that she is focused and knows what she stands for, open minded, honest, strong commitment, educated, can speak fluent English, can confront the reality of current Myanmar situation, can lift people spirit to be united and make effort to build country together, can deal with International community with more dignity. Better than the current leaders.
