Although they have their limitations, as I carry my camera around most of the time, for that never to be missed shot, this is an ideal lens to have fixed to your camera. It is impractical to carry your full kit of lenses at all times. If you were going out on a planned shoot I would select the best lens for that situation. However these lenses are a good compromise for what they are intended.
