Has GM Fixed The 2016 Cadillac ELR's Problems?

Cadillac enticed me with the 2015 ELR. I had'nt even considered Cadillac and it's design and forward thinking got me (and I think a lot of others) to take a look. And then came the price tag. As a marketer, I can only think the ridiculously high price point represents a pricing strategy based on costs....the absolute worst way to price. Sure enough others agreed.

Now, I'm even more confused. First they promise an "improved ELR". Then cancel that and the model altogether. Then they announce an "improved for 2016 ELR". Why would anyone buy (or even enthusiastically sell) a car like that?

I keep "pulling" for American brands and especially the former great marks like Cadillac. Seems I should be pulling for a strategy first.
