Star dman is vital, one that can put up a lot of points.
Tack on a big burly tough defensive dman to handle the heavy weights/hard hitters out there, provide some coverage for Weber.
Horvat #2 center next season.
Time to shed a few vets/contracts/roster spaces to acquire draft picks.
Bring on the youth! Baertschi, Jensen, Shinkaruk, Gaunce.

Once you accept the fact that the Canucks are a mediocre team then it all makes sense. To much has been played in the media about a "past" goalie" who they are still paying, and the damage he did to that club. It goes on and on. What is required is a 3 - 4 year total rebuild. Its an aging hockey club and will end up like Buffalo if it does not make the re-build move now. The only shining light in the organization is Jim Benning, because Mr. Benning came from the Bruins organization, Most intelligent people know that Boston is a template on how to put together not only a team but an organization behind it. Having said that, its quite apparent that Boston 'got away' from the path, and onto a very slippery slope with all that happened with trades etc, over the last few years. They are paying the price for it now. Back to what will make them successful again, will do it. The Canucks will continue to suffer, until they re-build.

I really do feel strongly that the Canucks will not get too far until the Sedins are the number 2 line. We also need better defence. You don't win many series with 4 or more goals being scored on you.
