It's interesting to think about how much daily communication is non-verbal. Interesting because, for the most part, it is automatic. How much is actually said without ever saying a word can easily be overlooked and taken for granted. A glance, a gesture, a space between people, can all say so much and a post like this one asks us to be mindful of what we say, when we say nothing at all. It is also asks us to consider the challenges of navigating the world when non-verbal communication does not flow freely, and, to be aware that these skills, like all others, can be developed with the right resources and supports.
