Are you surprised at Belterra Park's results?

I agree with everything Dan Cummings said in his comments. I love horse racing and bet tens of thousands every year. The racebook at Belterra Park is horrendous! Who would build a racetrack without a real club house? Me and my money go to Churchill Downs, Keeneland and Indiana Grand. I have tried to speak with the general manager, Kevin Kaufmann, and I could immediately tell that he had no interest in what I had to say.

The complete lack of interest management had in race players was astounding. They managed to alienate me-a 20+ year regular at River Downs-to the point that I won't go there.

The casino facility is nice. The food is good-although they lack a food court. The race book is an abomination. It is small, the screens are way too high, and management allowed low lives to completely misbehave. The experience I had at Belterra Park's racebook was as bad as I've had at a racetrack, and that's saying something!

Kevin Kaufmann is an arrogant clown who is in way over his head. How he's survived is beyond me. The casino didn't give free play to new players when it opened. That's an amazingly incompetent decision that drove revenues down from day 1. It's an incredibly poorly performing facility that screams for a new manager.

We've been there several times since it opened and haven't been to Horsehoe since. I actually can win enough to breakeven for the buffet and gaming, but that's all. Horseshoe never had any wins there and I'll go if I can break even.

We brought some friends there last month for the Easter Buffet, and I must say the buffet is always excellent. I'm always seeing the food turned over and a pretty good selection. Sometimes the more basic stuff would be good to have, but we've never been disappointed. The price can be killer. Our friends enjoyed it so much that they're taking some out of town friends over there next month when they come in. So I think it's probably just a "destination" thought type of thing. It's not the first thing that comes to mind yet when you think about eating out in Anderson.

I know if kids start being a big thing there, that we probably would forego the place, the buffet would end up being a Golden Corral or Frisch's, and that's not why we pay the big bucks.

All in all, it's clean, nice, not noisy, and very stress leveling to play for a couple of hours after a meal. We will continue to introduce folks and bring it up as a destination.

Agree with others on the payouts being low. I know people that have never won a lick at Belterra Park. Cant say i've been to Miami Vallley but I have heard of people winning more often at Horseshoe Cincinnati

That why they need bring back the game room for kids and teen, cradle stakes, and weiner dog race to increase their profit.

The buffet is seriously lacking, dried out, stale food. I couldn't find any standard slot machines, only video slots which I don't like.

Change the silly law to allow video poker machines at the racinos.

Been there 7-8 times. Never had a winning visit! Did not even have an occasional win to allow me to continue gambling. Sincerely doubt this Casino is returning the required mandated payback! Regulator's should check this place out !
