Jack Salisbury from Rhode Island needs to be included in this poll

  • Hi - 9 years ago

Novak and Thomet are my definite picks, but that third and final spot I'd say is still up for grabs

  • hate04 - 9 years ago

Why couldn't they all just gotten together and run for it. best outta 3

I have had the opportunity to witness all hard work, consistent training and focus of DAJOUR BRAXTON, who resides in the often overlooked and less populated state of Nevada. He trains and races like true national caliber athlete and has excelled under Coach Roy Sessions who consistently produces top national caliber high school and college-bound athletes (ie. Nick Hartle, Sydney Badger, etc.) . Dajour is hungry to compete with the best. He has only had limited opportunities this year to compete with top athletes and in both invitationals he lead from the front to set the pace and honored the challenge - Arcadia and then again at Mt. Sac Relays where he ran an impressive 4:09.18 mile.

I make my argument that Dajour Braxton should seriously be considered for this Dream Mile based on his proven merits and based on my own personal experience on what it takes to get to the top in our sport as a USA National H.S. Mile Champion (Indoor 1988) and Olympic Trials Semifinalist (2000 in 800m/1500m). Thank you in advance for your consideration of Dajour to toe the line at this great event.

Hey "hey gimme a break" ,

You didn't make my point for me at all.

    :-)

  • Emily - 9 years ago

Not insulting any of the other guys, but i believe that Thomet from AK is faster than the others in the mile.

You suck dick. Matthew Novak is a beast!

Obviously we are gonna take pride in our NATIONALLY RANKED RUNNER. He doesn't deserve to win because he is from the biggest, most beautiful, and cleanest state, he deserves to be in because he is better than most runners out there. He runs better in 50 mph winds, 40 degrees, and sleet with no one pacing him on a thursday than most runners can run in perfect temperature controlled indoor tracks. He deserves to win because he is better with the bare essentials of running (i.e. shoes, carbs, and water) than most people, including some of the other contenders, could ever come close to even with state of the art facilities, brand new top of the line equipment, a perfectly personally balanced diet, and the competition of 150+ kids vying for the spot at the top. He is relentless in his quest for self betterment but has never abandoned his team. Having run as his teammate for the past three years I can honestly say no one deserves to be in the dream mile more than Levi. NOT BECAUSE HE IS FROM SMALL TOWN KODIAK ALASKA, but because he embodies what running is truly all about.
So if you want us to get over ourselves, give us a legitimate reason not to be proud of our friend.

  • Dear "gimme a break" - 9 years ago

Levi Thomet just happens to be my teammate. I have seen firsthand how hard he works, and i know how much he deserves to go to this event. He is just as fast and devoted as any of the entrants in this field, and if there is anyone that needs to get over themselves, its you.

  • Christine - 9 years ago

Looks like Levi Thomet from Alaska is faster than the best posted time of the Texas runner by about 14 seconds. Congrats!!!

  • Christine - 9 years ago

These elite athletes have already earned invites. Hard work, sacrifice, and natural ability pushed to the limit. Nonetheless, My vote is for Levi Thomet because his back story is so interesting.

  • Gimme a break - 9 years ago

more AK "we are special so we deserve to win" mentality. Do you not think the other kids come from small communities, too? They are not as devoted and fast?

    Get over yourselves.

  • Danae McKinney - 9 years ago

I don't know who will get to go, but I wish you would open this up to the top 3 vote getters. We live in a community with a very small population, and we are all voting but hard to compete with Texas! But Levi Thomet is a nationally ranked runner, who is as fast as lightening, and is completely passionate about running. He dedicates all of his free time to running and competing. And he REALLY deserves to go. Hope the organizers will consider this.
