Worker safety??? What a ridiculous reason. Give your heads a shake and look at the truth of the matter - workers are not at risk unless they chase down the criminals and jump on their vehicle. How often does that happen???

The positive vote for, "mandatory pre-pay", is understandable - it's a knee-jerk reaction to the recent crime.. As most comments will show, pre-pay is very unpopular.. I dislike it as well and will not frequent gas stations that use this system.. There's probably a simple solution - cameras.. If you want to fuel up and the security camera can't get a clear image of your face, then you get nothing.. No picture - No fuel.. Training staff not to engage crooks would be a good idea, and in a dream world, we would have tougher laws in place to deal with gas-and -dash criminals.. Treat the real crooks like crooks and give the rest of us a break......

It is hard to prepay when you have no idea the exact amount it takes to fill your tank. Unless you just enter an amount you know is more and assume the transaction will be corrected to the right amount when it is processed?
I do know I find it annoying in BC, especially when travelling longs distances and wanting to be sure I am topped up. I am not comfortable with leaving my debit or credit card with a station attendant while I pump gas either.

No because when I fuel up I don't know how more fuel they are going to take every time

I hope they don't ruin AB like they did BC. Pre-pay is NOT necessary. Yes some individuals may have a strong sense of wrong and right but they should remind themselves that their life is worth more than the price of a tank of gas. Time should be spent training employees and not on this kind of legislation.

This is not needed. Staff have to stop trying to be heroes. There are cameras at all stations to record. Just call the police. All this law will do is to tie up the pumps longer as one has to go in twice if paying by cash. Many still do.
Also paying at the pump is cruel during the winter months.
