We are all canadian citizens. Health care in this country is a given and it makes us great! This is a no brainer, and the mayor can screw off with the idea of denying ANYONE medical treatment, in this great country of ours. People have died, wars have been fought, to achieve the rights we have today. To take away or deny any canadian citizens there right to insured health care, would be a travesty and straight forward, it would be and should be, criminal!

It's a great idea. When Jonathan Bacon was shit in Kelowna, the hospital had to go on lockdown with private security & have guards stationed at each door. I can't imagine what the cost of that was. They had to protect the rest of the patients from gang retaliation after the shooting. Hell yes they should pay for their own care.

This is a good thought that still needs some definite defining. The loop holes are definitely wide open and needs a tighter loop for sure. Another problem will and probably already happens is that they will go underground for medical services, which also opens another can of worms.

Perhaps every OBESE person should pay their own medical bills, every high risk employee like police and firemen, every person with a high sodium intake, every person with diabetes that ignores the risk, every female ...regardless of the reason that chooses an abortion, every unemployed person should pay their dental (WHICH THEY ACTUALLY DO), every person that was stupid enough to smoke for a few years of their life...every person whos employment placed them at risk for some sort of cancer, etc. Stop judging people without looking at YOURSELF! What the hell makes you any better than them?????

For starters, it's not the doctors that chase down payments, it is their support staff. Also, who is going to enforce that payment from a criminal? I don't think it would work whether we like the idea or not.

But is it then fair for the individual doctors to chase up the gangsters for payment and would they receive payment in the end? The doctors are their to help the general public and the more time they spend behind the scene chasing payment the less they can do to help everyone else.
