While I don't agree with the Hamilton trade, I do believe there was no other option. GM Sweeny stated that they tried to work things out with a contract but they were too far apart. I'll assume the B's were willing to throw 4-5m per year for 2-3 years but Dougie wanted more long term which also means more cash. Former GM Chia-pet brought us a cup, yes, but he also put us in cap hell. I was floored when they gave Lucic that contract...his highest output was 62 points! Regardless, his move was necessary as well. Cap room is what kept us from really making a splash at the trade deadline these past few years and overall I'm glad they made some room.

The draft selections by the celtics we're almost as bewildering as the bruins trading douggie and resigning mcquaid.
