Do you think that the Farlam Commission did a good job in preparing its report on the death of mine workers at Marikana in 2012?

A difficult call. Farlam was given a very restrictive remit, and the witnesses were anything but co-operative. He should have been able to sub-poena, or, to the extent that he had the power, he should have used it more. And the duration of the hearing was such that its finding became increasingly less important. The end result was nothing definitive - but could it have ever been?
