I think that yandere simulator is great! the school environment is cool, but I think if you just added a neighborhood( like where you have yandere' house, and senpi's house. Maybe even some students houses that would be awesome, that way you could add stalking to the game too! The neighborhood doesn't even have to be that big, having the houses and a store to by supplies to help with yandere' evil plans. You could even have the neighborhood connect with to the school so you don't have to spawn at the school everytime! That would be awesome but you don't have to have an entire town.
RPG IL - 9 years ago
I thimk you need to add small town BUT if someone in school see you and you dont enter time to class you should go to the principal and talk to him
Skye - 9 years ago
The focus of the game is at the school, adding an entire town would take away this focus. I think having a few more environments could add to the playability, but an open world is too much.
alucard9119 - 9 years ago
Open world would be great. I believe this because a lot of what leads up to the murderous school rampage is what happens out of the school. Just think about it! Senpai going out on a date with some other girl, and you can follow them, ruin their plans, or simply wait it out till she is alone and confront her in a sadistic sort of way. Plus this gives us chances to sneak into senpais house heh-heh and steal some other things for our shrine, like say pictures of him sleeping, and personal items (underwear, pictures, etc). In addition we could also say do odd jobs for people to earn some money for a trip to the old tool shop to buy some things for the basement ;) or go to other shops to buy other important things like say certain drugs to capture victims, weapons, etc.. etc. The possibilities just grow tremendously! Hell throw in a option for us to find the "slut" who has been hitting on senpai house so we can kill her pet or " leave a message" for her. Depending on just how Yandere you want to take things. If so than open world is fundamentally needed in my option! and I would love to donate to such a game that allows me to to truly release the beast inside me! (ha-ha)
FlufflePuff - 9 years ago
I think it would be nice. I know how much time this takes and how much money and coding. Though I think more people would be interested in the game ultimately making more money. I can't donate sadly but...yeah that's all. You are a inspiration for me since I want to go into game design! Your showing me its possible. Thank you! Now may I add some ideas to the table?
Star - 9 years ago
The open worlds would really add to the game!! I dont think people realize the possiblities that come with a open world map, and just dont liek the idea of waiting. By creating an open map it'll allow the player more options and alot more play time. I personally would donate money to that cause and there are alot of others who would too.
A lot of people forget atmosphere is a large effect on the game. If it even means I have to wait 3 years for the game's release, I will wait, because your game is worth what you want to put into it. I hope you project becomes fully realized and I've been so happy watching it grow!!
Bloop - 9 years ago
I think it would be a great idea to have the small town, then you could stalk students and invite them out to hang out and kill them somewhere else. That way the police will not only suspect students. Eventually I think it would be really cool to let Yandere-chan stalk senpai to his house, and collect more items for the senpai shrine. And then you could let Yandere-chan find other weapons out is shops or somewhere hidden. Although this will have to come much later, I always wondered about Yandere-chan's family, if she kidnapped someone, wouldn't any family have access to the basement? In any case, keep it up!
Nick - 9 years ago
Just complete the current game for now. You can always add the town later as DLC or Expansion later.
Senji - 9 years ago
Open world seems too difficult to make, i think you should add more places but do it like the persona 3/4 style with the zones.
KKLUKKLL - 9 years ago
Open world can actually open the game more further..yes need more timessssss and more money and more people...It could really change yandere sim into the "real yandere" you could make yandere chan spy on senpai all the way..or even spying th target to eliminate ....we could make it like knowing the personality of the target and of course senpai...cause it can open more route from the system to the story...the current system could be improvise more improve??
Compromise: make it an open world. Yandere-chan can stalk/kidnap or sell items to upgrade stat. Should limit Yandere-chan killing ability at school only.
kester - 9 years ago
open world is really attractive but that's not essential.
reason of why many people want play Yandere Simulator because it is unique.
you must focus on 'Yandere'.
if you want to draw deep side.
I think, just school is enough.
someone's want to see the 'life'
but, you can't make that all.
I give you some advice.
thinking about society and love.
In the Yandere Simulator, love is very important.
for probability and process, for the absorbed.
if you haven't resolute story, remember this
Brickxred - 9 years ago
Adding more environments may let players have more options when murdering. For example, maybe Yandere Chan can have part-time jobs in a convenience store and get some money to buy tools for murdering. :)
Donald - 9 years ago
I personally love open world games because I like to explore, but I don't think this game really needs that. This is a game about a high school girl killing other high schoolers to get to her high school crush, so it only makes sense for it to only take place in school. But I think it would be interesting to travel to and from school, see where sempi lives and kidnap people yourself compared to just watching the dialogue. I also think being open world will open up more ways to kill people like in a clothing store dressing room, so once again the game doesn't need to be open world but I think it can benefit especially when it comes to replay value. I also think you should include a jump button and super secret areas/ short cuts.
Shinji - 9 years ago
making it open world is ok. like follow or i mean stalking senpai till his home or even make yandere-chan house. but not too open. just adding the important stuff in it.
A.B. - 9 years ago
Rather than an entire town, I think the game could benefit from just the area just outside the school and your home (i.e. the neighborhood). Imagine following senpai to his home, and maybe one day he stays home sick from school and you could either use this as an opportunity to eliminate your rival without worrying about him seeing you at least or choose to skip school that day to watch over him from afar, possibly leaving a care package of soup and medicine bought at the convenience store at his door. Or you could go to your rival's house, leave threatening notes or surreptitiously take things that are important to her (or leave things that would implicate her in a crime!). At the very least the neighborhood outside of school would be a great environment for finding collectibles to make the senpai shrine in your room truly a place of worship. The rest of the town (e.g. shopping centers, shrines, nature environs) I can't really see adding anything to the game other than being a testimony to how much effort has been put into it.
Clairé-Belle - 9 years ago
This is indeed a difficult decision. Although I myself am not a game developer, my brother is going to school to become one, so I off-handedly know the difficulties of the progress of game development. The game's premise is about "Yandere-chan" destroying her rivals FROM SCHOOL to keep her beloved Senpai to herself. The key phrase is "from school". My belief is that a large majority of the game should be kept AT SCHOOL to keep what it entails on track rather than letting it go all over.
However, I did mention a large majority, not all. Sure, you can add MANY things to the school to end your rival: have a school festival (the ones you commonly see in anime) and secretly end your rival there (or blame her in front of a huge crowd), have an archery team and have Info-chan leave one of the bows out "by mistake" (although you did say you wanted to stay away from projectiles...), or even put one of those notes in her locker and have her go underneath a tree so a beehive can "accidently" drop (I dunno). BUT what of those cunning rivals? Those ones whom seem to catch on to you, yet still don't know it's you. Or they have way amazing skills like the teachers and can't be put down by ANY way of physical, conscious attack? Or.... they just decide they NEVER want to go to school again ironically???
You don't need an open-world to help "expand the gameplay". You just need a couple extra areas. A park, a student's apartment, a café. That's it. Well.... I don't mean those areas specifically, but it gets the point across, no?
Long story short, keep the "auto transport" as it is. Just add a couple areas to give a little more flare and excitement. ^^
Caitlyn - 9 years ago
I like the idea that we can expand outside of the school, but an open world seems too much and would take away from the game. I had an idea though while talking with my friend. The ability to stalk your rival and your senpai would be an interesting mechanic. This would enhance the game by adding the ability to gather information on your rival and be able to appeal to what your senpai finds attractive or listen in on his life in general. (Senpai pictures are always good regardless.) With games like Yandere Simulator, an open world takes away from the gameplay experience, but opening it up to small amounts of extra world would add to the experience and give it more replay-ability. Maybe trying to avoid being spotted and finding a hiding place to snoop would be another interesting game mechanic.
Heidi wong - 9 years ago
I have a suggestion, maybe you xan add a boy who love yandere. Then according the players choices, will have another ending.I think ut will make the game more interesting, but it just my suggestion.
mupheminsani - 9 years ago
Open world and real time would be great additions but only if they are story related. Players love to interact stuff in games so, as long as it's well crafted, it'll be a great feature as well. If you feel like open world really helps the game, I say: go for it!
loco - 9 years ago
You should make it open world but after the game releases
ming - 9 years ago
I don't think an open world as big as a small town is required, but I think some more environment can be added, like a part of town.
After all, I think if such environment is added can lengthen the operation time,I think 5days in school really not enough for the aim of yandere chan
Moreover, more operation can be taken, like buying presents, following senpai, kill someone by pushing them to a closing car or killing someone in a dark street...........
if the functions are enough, that fill a vacancyof environment, player won't feel boring
Josh - 9 years ago
Open world game you can follow senpai all over the town and mark down the rout he takes to go home and from school. That way you can follow or hide while your stalking senpai. And in the town you can buy supplies to take out the other girls that stand in the way. Upgrade the camera to blackmail students and teachers to get out of being expelled or getting arrested.
Yuise Fudo - 9 years ago
I say make the game open world that way you can stalk your pray outside of the school and take pictures of her buying drugs or doing "other things" to blackmail her or get her expelled
Dorphus - 9 years ago
Compromise:
As you said, adding an open world is not just a lot of work to make, but a lot of things that already are in place should be reconsidered as well.
Still I would like different sceneries which could be somewhat part of a town. A supermarket for example might be a great place. Here you could meet up with people, kill people (when hidden behind shelves or idk what) and buy ingredients for poison or whatever.
I think an open world also belongs more to the "Adventure" type games, while this isn't. You can add different environments for quick interaction and use them logically, while an open world tend to seem more chaotic. Doing it this way, once you have enough environments and are still afraid the game might get boring (how do you even want to accomplish such thing xD) you can more easily upgrade the game to open world by knoting the places together with a few streets, than building a whole town from basically scratch.
But as long as you add new environments (Supermarket (ingredients everywhere), Building sites(accidents can happen), Maid Cafe (Part time job + info leaking), ect.) and add new difficulities with each place (the hot cashier that rarely leaves her desk, the workers who keep an eye on everything, your latest rival is your collegue on this job, but senpai visits this cafe aswell...) I don't see this game getting boring anytime soon!
I know you probably won't read this, but I hope with this more people will choose to compremise, for I think that is the best choice for thttps://polldaddy.com/poll/8958719/?view=results&msg=voted#he Yandere Simulator.
yinhei - 9 years ago
you may consider that some of the woman in the outside world who love senpai. For example: senpai anti or supermarket cashier. And Yandere can murder them
Sam - 9 years ago
an open world would be wonderful for yandere sim, it would be a way to stalk students outside of school, get insides scoops from parents and adults, stalk senpai and watch his daily habits
I feel like the open world idea is a great one but should be done in a future installment of the game like a sequel or something. I'd say make the school as good as it can be, see how it sells, and then make the open world game. Not to mention there are still plenty of other things you can add to a school environment. This way people can have both a sandbox game and open world game. With what you have now you would either have to somehow get all the money and volunteers you need or finish this game and make a second one with open world.
formliess - 9 years ago
I think being able to envision what the game could be and continually push the bar up for yourself is what will help you make a game everyone can remember for a long time and you can be proud of. Don't be afraid to commit to new ideas like this because it can only make your experience as a game maker increase and give you better ideas for the next games you'll make. I would love more questing and world to be able to play the game in more ways and maybe take different paths for endings. At some point i said being able to hex or charm senpai or students would be fun, with an open world you could bribe punks from the neighboring school to beat up your rival. It would also give us the opportunity to shop, whether it was for a present or unlockables. It could even deepen the stalking senpai aspect as you follow him through town.
Nori - 9 years ago
I think an open world is a good idea, but it definitely can't be TOO big. So a small open world would be nice, i could buy senpai stuff and anonymously put them in his locker.
Evey-Bii - 9 years ago
Hey YandereDev!
Like some other people have suggested, it would be cool to have something like Persona 3 and 4 where you can jump around to different environments. While I like the idea of open concept, it may not really be necessary, and something like that environment build would be sufficient. Also I worry that open world would take a loooooot more time to do.
After watching the video, I think you should make an open world (or compromise and allow us to travel to certain areas) on the idea that if you're able to kill your victims and sabotage your rivals in different areas other than the school, you would grant us more opportunity to explore and have fun with the game. This also allows us to see the world of Yandere Simulator in your eyes and focus on playing the game as it could possibly become.
There is always ups and downs to deciding a final decision so I recommend look at both of them before making a decision and decide to either go ahead with the Open World idea OR Compromise and allow us to explore new specified areas while not making it open world. I wouldn't recommend it staying as a "non-open world" game because limiting it to one area does become rather dull and repetitive and gamers, such as myself, LOVE to explore new areas and not be limited to what the game could possibly be perceived to be.
What Natsuiro High School (from what the video showed) did right was allowing us to have an open world scenario to travel and go where we please, while allowing us to play the game as we wanted to. I'm not asking to make it like Natsuiro High School, but I would hope to take some ideas from it, create them in your own way, and make it into something fans would drool about.
Hope you take my comment/thoughts into consideration and look at both sides to all three arguments (1) make it open world (2) don't make it open world and/or (3) compromise and allow us new certain areas (without open world). Hope you do read this and endure all of it XD!

The quality of the game is certainly more important than how long it will take to release it (generally), especially because you are releasing early builds. The game would certainly benefit from a larger, environment, whether that means expanding the school, adding new teleport-to environments, or a full on open-world, however, you should not neglect the mechanics and dynamism of the game to expand the environment, as the those are the core of the game; also there is little point to spending time adding new environment if it can not be interacted with, so if you do add more yandere-chan should be able to do something with it.

Yandere Dev:
You've voiced many concerns that the game will get boring if you leave it at just the school. There are games that remedy this situation with a map-to-location setup, similar to what's in Persona 3.
The main "exhibit" is the school, which has different features for different times of day. However, you do have the option to do things outside of school, just you don't normally have a lot of "blank space" to walk through between them. Example, a Shopping Mall. A good place to spy on potential rivals, but depending on the kind of mall, not too much bigger (If even as big) than the school. Also could buy underwear or items of interest at a lingerie store; club interests store; hobby store... each of these opens up possibilities for favors, weapons and keeps the game from being monotonous as you worry.
Similar examples are Apartment Complexes (we don't know exactly where Yandere chan lives, save that it has a bedroom and a basement), amusement parks, train stations (or similar places were accidents will happen ;D) recreational parks, arcades, restaurant/cafe areas... And while Info-chan would probably prefer murder to happen ON school grounds, as long as they are classmates, she can still report on it and sell newspapers.
My suggestion is, since the models themselves DO take so long, and you do seem to have the concern that it will get monotonous, consider it like this. Your MAIN concern and interest should be the school. This is the place that Yandere spends the most time with/around/watching-from-across-the-school her Senpai. At the same time, Yandere could benefit from having actual places to go watch people. After all, not everything happens at school. You have your types that keep a clean image at school and when they're away, they're nothing but play. Being able to catch these moments might be beneficial to her. It will also break up the moments on the rooftop, which we're starting to have a lot of.
Just some ideas. I know how daunting it can be to make an entire dummy backdrop just for one or two moments of relief from the school, so if that's all you're aiming for, you can always do the City Map route. There are points of interest and you can kind of pop between them (only so many in a day) and check the sights and doings. There would also likely be things around town Info Chan would like to report on. That kind of thing.
Francis - 9 years ago
I think it should be 'open world' but to a degree. As far as i'm aware this is your first feature length game, so do what you can. don't push too hard.
but on the other hand, you could always do updates that add to the game after release, i don't know i'm just throwing ideas out there.
Hannah Lynn - 9 years ago
Hey Dev!!!
I think you should compromise. Make the school like a boarding school and add dorms and other buildings to the game. That way Yandere or any of the students in fact have to leave the school and Yandere has more opportunities to be rid of her classmates.
For example:
if you add a dorm she would have to room with another girl and Yandere could use her to get information on other students and learn their class schedules or at the end of the day when you go back to your dorm your roommate would gossip to you about what she heard that day. In Yandere's room she can have a closet and/or trunk where she can keep her weapons and other things. Also in the dorm you could drown your classmate in the bath and use the shower to rinse off the blood, and a dumpster behind the dorm to dispose of the body and with the dumpster it gets emptied once a week and the more bodies you put in it the more likely someone will find them.
if you add a pool it would be a way for Yandere to gain more stamina and/or strength and also if she's covered in blood a quick dip could clean you off... also you can drown people cuz thats always fun!!
if you add a gardening shed it could be locked and Yandere would have to find which teacher has the key and once she unlocks the shed she could get rope, hammers, nails, and most importantly poison!!
if the school had a "forgotten" basement Yandere could use it to kidnap and torture classmates or if your too desperate for senpai you can kidnap him and feed him everyday!
if you add a library Yandere can study for her classes and get more skill points from her classes... also the library could be THE place to talk to people alone and with the shelves not having backs Yandere can overhear conversations without risk of being caught!
Also with the dumpster idea you could put one behind the school, one behind the gym, and one beside the dorm (if you do that that is) that way we as players dont have to go across a map to dispose of a body.
Those are just some of the things i can think of!! But above all else this is your game so what ever you decide in the end i will still play it!!
Good luck!!!

I think that Yandere Sim should include stores
Weapon stores: To buy weapons and kill people
Grocery Store: To buy items for Senpai (like candies for him) and other charaters (to get the girls in love with someone else or simply poison a student)
and some other stores that might be useful for Yandere.

Yandere Simulator think that the place is too small, So I think good things to a little more to widen
Because too small, smaller the fixed pattern is limited in this game to be a bit more open mandeuneunge widen the production time would not be delayed, even if the finished game?
Let me give you a picture I've certainly not a lot of production costs?
But I think the better off naohneunge think high mature games
It was always fabulous to see that this was only implemented so look carefully watching the video production process

Hi Dev! Before I say anything I'd just like to say awesome job on the game so far, I'm really really looking forward to it :D
I feel like the idea that you have in mind sounds wonderful, and would definitely prevent the game from getting too boring by keeping it in the one area. But as many people have said, by making the game open world it may, (and I say may because there is still potential for this not to happen) lose focus of the true purpose of the game.
However, I strongly agree with the notion of adding more areas into the game. If creating a single map where everything is open world and you can go from one place to another either on foot or using transport like a bike is too difficult, even expanding the 'teleport' function. Eg have a map open and a selected option of areas of the hypothetical town that Yandere-chan could visit would still work? It's still allowing for more areas to be implemented but wouldn't have to be open world. Eg: have a teleport to outside Senpai's house, and the spawn area would just be a small street.
If you did decide to make the game open world, there'd be advantages such as adding bonus features like stalking home other characters or having access to places and facilities outside of school that could potentially enhance the experience. It'd also make the game feel a bit more realistic as it isn't confined to the one area of the school which I think is a good idea if you were able to achieve it. Having an open world expands the possibilities and it'd never leave players hanging. They'd be able to get really creative with their murders and the way they'd have to carefully plan out every murder and gain information, it already sounds like a bunch of fun! But there'd also be disadvantages for both you and the game itself; it'd take longer, it'd be harder to make and there'd be more work needed to be put into it. It also may drive the purpose of the game away unless each area of the game had a specific need to be there.
The idea that I have currently of the game is that it is a game where you play as Yandere-chan who wants to eliminate all possible rivals for her Senpai, no matter the cost. Adding the open world feature doesn't necessarily mean every single place will be utilised, and so it's really up to you whether you want every part of the game to be utilized to the fullest to enhance the experience, or whether adding those extra places are worth it for the game and whether adding an open world will serve the purpose you want the game to become. Is it simply to eliminate the boredom effect, or is it to expand the possibilities?
tl;dr - Add more areas for sure but IMO, I'd focus on adding areas that would benefit or serve a purpose for the game. So far most areas in the game do have a purpose and that seems like a good thing, but also having extra environments to make the game more realistic and enhance the experience would also be a good thing.. I'd focus more on the options that Yandere-chan has available and the functions in the environments you already have. Maybe add more features to Yandere-chan's room? Or create areas that would be specific to gaining weapons/materials to assit Yandere-chan, eg a Dojo for the katana, and you'd have to join the Karate club or something.
Newberry - 9 years ago
I think you shoud stick to original plan and make small-scale game about school. BUT when you release it you can make an add-on or expansion pack. So it will be two birds with one stone: the will be a game for people to enjoy (and to show you mean serious and have necessary skills) and plenty of time after the release to create open world. Maybe you should start a fundraising campaign for this add-on. Maybe in the game itself (when it will be ready) - like banner in the main menu "Wanna open world? Go here and donate!"
Henry - 9 years ago
Here's my thought: Add small areas around the school.
Adding too much things would make it complicated and might lose focus on the main point of this game. But I do agree adding areas will add more attraction and re-play value. Also those areas can make great connections to the game.
I come up with some places, hope these helps!
- Commercial district/street (商店街, しょうてんがい)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sh%C5%8Dtengai
Yandere can do some requests/missions there. (Buying things, solving problems, stalking....)
- Dorm(寮)
Maybe a small dorm, otherwise you guys need to create a lot more characters...
- A mountain/hill behind the school. A lot of schools in Japanese cartoons have mountains around.
Good place to dump corps
- Jinja(神社)/Temple
Great place for requests and missions & place for hiding things
- Maybe... senpai's home?
And I hope there are more features in Yandere's house.

Great work! I'm looking forward to play the completed version!

I like the idea of an open town, but that would make many difficulties. For one thing, you would need many more students. For a whole town, you'd have to have more boys and girls , or the teenager cout just wouldn't be right. Second, you would have to put the game onto disc, which would be expensive and would have to go into stores. Third some ideas would have to be scrapped that u had. It would be easier to kill the students in one day; although there will be more places to hide, that means no one would be safe outside school either, and that the murders can be traced back to you easier. You would have to add more adults, children, maybe even babies, and that would take a lot of models, and voice actors como which is probably a lot more expensive. There are many holes in this plan, so I suggest you compromise. Even though, I agree with everybody else, an open city would be more fun.

Humans only have enough time on earth to create a handful of games before they die. Shouldn't you spend those years making something as amazing as it can possibly be? Something that you look back on with pride, knowing that players will still be replaying it years and years later? I think the choice is obvious.

Worried Yandere Simulator Fan - 9 years ago
Making the game Open-World by creating and attaching a small town to the game could lead to issues in the future, the biggest (and most worrying) being that it'll get too big and won't be released at all.
It would definitely be great if the game did have the small town added to it; you could come up with other ways of 'getting rid of your rivals' after school. Ruin their family relationships? Go for it. Scare them into moving out? Do it.
Kill them outside the school? The possibilites are endless.
But the most practical thing to do with the project now would be to continue the game as it is without the open world aspect, but keep it as a design idea. At least have a playable build for the highschool created to show how the game is meant to be played. Then re-open the idea of the small town, and work on from there.
From this, there would at least be some form of a working build, people will know what it'll look like and become more interested, and you're dream project will come alive.

I think more than anything, I'm interested in seeing your complete and unbound vision for Yandere sim. All three options could work honestly, and regardless of however the poll swings you can bet the majority of us will want to play it. Create the game that you'll not only have fun making, but watching people play.

Buy the way if there could be a map so you can see where everything is like if you go to a shop you can bye weapons, food, and drinks the food and drinks are for your hunger bar then if you been hit then you could have a life bar the when you go to sleep or heal your self then you well be full with your both bars and for your reputation bar if you do nice or bad things to the right kind of people like the teacher pets you have to show good vibes and if you don't you will be sent to the student conceal and if you do good things To the bad kids then they will dislike you more and the more you do good things to them then the more hateful and bully you more and you could add a field so say is a football or whatever they do for sports she can set up stuff and kill students easier and when the teacher see's you putting up traps then she will catch you and take you away then never see senpie ever again

I like the original traveling mechanics that allow you to select your destination without having to actually travel to it. I think that adding one or two hangouts in town, a clothing store for panties (also add more of them), the homes of senpai, your rivals (which are randomly generated), and expanding yandere's should take care of the needed locations. If you really want to make me happy, add a location where yandere wears less clothing like a beach (also add hot bikini babes.)
I would also like to suggest a toggle option for both the phone's camera and dragging dead bodies. I also would like to see more customization options such as the abillity to change yandere's hair, makeup, and accessories such as watches and glasses.
I would also like to see the length of the game extended and new transfer students to fill the gap of murdered students (you could just change the student's hair and/or skin color to create new students) because it gets boring once they have all been killed.
Sincerely,
JHF

I like the game as is, but adding an open world aspect to it will increase the amazing gameplay. You can by stuff like laxatives at the store for rivals, get panty shots at people's homes, kill kids in their homes and even interact with suspicious characters that may help. I am a huge supporter of Yandere Simulator and hope it does well. Even though I'm too young to donate I give my best wishes to the game's success!!

I like that the game is smaller than a hole open world map. It makes it less complicated and feels right. Of course adding more places could be a plus, making a map so huge makes it less fun to murder people and makes you forget that you are in high school protecting your senpai. Adding events seems more reasonable, like your idea to make festivals. Maybe make dates there were a girl asks him out. Also maybe a dance or something inside of the gym were you "Yandere-san" can turn off the lights or set a timer on the lights and either murder someone there or make a chandelier fall onto someone. I encourage to keep the map size resalable but add enough events to interest the player, and give either an opportunity for Yandere-san or a disadvantage.
i want you to take place in a small town。
but i dont know how difficulty to do it。
and i think this is to deserve to wait for your game。
and i think your game is really cool for now。
i support you!

I think its better to add town feature cause in town you can also murder the one who crush on senpai then you can go to police station or something, stalk senpai, also add jump for dramatic execution or high point execution, for better playing

Interesting monologue from a developing point of view.
Shit, ,maybe highschool does not actually have that many details as an enviornment as it should... Have you ever thought of using a college or university instead. Since its a bigger enviorment, with a bigger variety of characters or potencial characters for the game.

Loving what you're doing with the game so far, and whatever you do with it will still be great. I've got a few thoughts on the matter, however.
I personally love open world and exploration, and though it would be amazing in yandere simulator, it might just be... "Too much". As odd as that sounds, it would likely be too hard on your team and also too much to look at. With or without minimaps, people would likely get lost.
A good alternative, however, is making the highschool a private/boarding school with dorms. (though some characters, such as Yandere-Chan and Senpai would likely live off campus) This would allow for you to add more buildings, such as a seperate 'medical' building where characters that weren't killed can be finished off, a library/computer lab/music room/etc. area, and even a central 'park' area (basically the walkway to the highschool but a bit bigger and more places to hide/murder) giving more space to explore, but keeping it within the walls of the school and therefore in a general space.
Another cool thing would be when you're given the option to 'go home', it gives a 'where would you like to go' list like when Yandere-chan leaves for school. Some additional places would be a corner store (possible gifts for classmates feature that affects reputation?), hardware shop (way to get/dispose of murder weapons, get poison...), and possibly senpai's house or the current rival's house? This would keep it all in a 'fixed' area much smaller than a full town with other uneeded buildings, but it would still keep it from getting boring quickly and it would be a lot less for you to deal with (I hope.)
No matter what you do, the game will still end up wonderful, thank you so much for all the time and effort you've spent on it. C: Keep doing what you're doing, because it's amazing~ What ever you think is best will be just fine. :D

Why make a open world map in this game? is useless. i 'think you should make a "limited town" to walk through. like, a city with one way to shopping, school and home only.
Raziel Star - 9 years ago
An open world is very unnecessary for this kind of game. More environments would be great to see though but only as long as they are fully developed. The school alone has so much potential as far as different classrooms and more students and teachers. The more dense and rich you can make the school the less you'll need to rely on other environments. Don't spread the experience out too thin.
Instead of adding an open world, why not create a hub of environments to explore, similar to the Persona series? Going along with that idea would be less of a hassle for your team, while still being pretty explorable.

I'd say add a maybe make a map with small areas that you can go to. like a hospital to finish off a rival if you didn't kill them way or senpais house so you can Stock him and maybe a dumpsite to dump the bodies that be pretty cool

I think if anything you should make it a small open world! Like make the neighborhood avaible to stalk Senpai on the way home! Kill more students that way on the way home, be able to throw the corpse in a bush or do something else make the entire neighborhood of all the students active were you interact with the houses, people etc. make more things happen that way, make yandere be able to get new weapons from people's house, things like that. I like yandere sim the way it is! if anything expand to a small town. (If the neighborhood thing sounds to borning)
I like the way the design is and how it's made with format! Please keep it the same! Just add like the neighborhood avaible or if anything a SMALL town.

I agree on mostly on the idea of a Open World but a very small town, would be awesome to stalk Senpai on his way home, murder on different times and places beside school, making it possible to find evidence of other students lifes as abuse at home and things like that, and if only one student of a family is abused you could ruin the brother or sisters by murdering one of them and planting the evidence of abuse near the corpse and having the father/mother get into custody by the police, which also affects the life of the other one.
Also a new category of photos would then appear as evidence you could make photo's when ones being abused and having that a special category for blackmail, evidence.
also the option to push someone from stairs would be good idea and they end up in a ''small' hospital, and having a couple of skill points high enough to enter that area and providing a reason to be there, when your Love Rival is in a coma at that moment you could murder them by give them wrong medicine, sabotage life support systems when they are in the hospital.
Speaking of terrorizing lifes I would suggest as phones are in Yandere sim. that would be awesome to make telephone calls at night to other students and have to option to stalk them greatly influences how they behave at school and their mood as they had less sleep making them fear as they are more concerned about themselves than with senpai, things you say at the phone, or being just silent or even Laughing could create it. I have experienced it when I was 16 and my ex-girlfriend was stalking me, it was quite affecting my mood, how much sleep I get and being a bit more aware of my surroundings.

This is a very interesting situation you poised. The original plan of social sabotage and school murder is definitely the initial, main appeal of Yandere Sim within its own self-contained environment, but your fears of the game becoming stale after a while is not unfounded.
A small town area would add possibilities for the main gameplay focus like nothing else. You'd be able to stalk students to their homes, buy weapons in the city and smuggle them into the school, you'd be able to ask someone on a date and murder them into a pier because "it was an accident". You'd be able to push people in front of trains, or even go to the police station yourself and frame someone else by planting weapons in their own houses and stuff!
It's a complex question, and one I'm sure it can't be answered lightly. I don't know how big the Yandere Sim team is, and I know you've been working super hard on it to make something fun, and I don't want you to be driven insane by a herculean task like creating an open-world experience this complex. I don't know how complex it is, or would be. I don't know how hard programming is. I'm a writer, and I know how hard it is to write for extremely long periods of time on a subject that required my full attention at all times.
I think that, for now, it would be great to focus on the social aspect of the engine and make it work, at least in a relatively safe environment. Making the "dark atmosphere" of a serial killer in a whole town would certainly be a daunting task, even if the possibilities for it are endless.
Still, I think that social sabotage with a town to do things in would be awesome. Maybe it would be a way to decrease your insanity to partake in activities, or if someone catches you in a criminal act, people would have to physically run to the station and warn the cops of your shenanigans, or the cops would have to run to the school in real time...? I don't know.
In any case, if you want help on anything regarding this game, if I, a writer, can provide any help whatsoever to you, don't hesitate to do it. I think this game has the potential to do and be something awesome, and I cheer you for your efforts in it! Legit!

I don't think think a small town in Yandere Sim is a good idea, if anything she should be able to kill people outside the school when they're trying to report her to the police.
kyuri - 9 years ago
it doesnt have to be open world
why not put an option in the evening after class where you either stroll in town and collect information and buy weapons or go straight home
also limiting info chans information should add more challenge to it
i think the yandere simulator as of now is pretty easy since you can get any info you want from info chan with just a picture of their face
this is just a suggestion dont hate

I feel that the town should serve as a backdrop. Maybe for loading sequences and cutscenes like you originally had. I feel the school should be explored, and also it would take to much time making a fully explorable town. Maybe compensate for the lack of town by making the school bigger. But I'll leave it up to you Yandere Dev.

in my opinion an open world would be very nice development. It would be actually more interesting to go around the city or to your own home and not just kill people and learn how to do it at school (but it nice too) . it just an idea but it would be nice if there would be a choice to stalk senpai even after school to his house, and make missions. like the toothbrush which yandere chan stole from senpai? make some kind of a mission that you can go and steal it without getting noticed or something. and all the possibilities that you can do in a city, are huge! open world would make the player want to play more and more and discover more and more new things. so..... i think it would be very nice if you would take that idea seriously.

Ok, so i am soooo excited for this game because ive been waiting for someone to do a game like this for soo long and this one is unique and i loooove where your going with it. If you do read this can you please read my suggestions, thx if you got thhis far.
-If you do make a town , as unique as the game is it should have like its bad side with like torn houses and illegal people and maybe you can make allies there
-Maybe different personalities for people like a mean snobb that can be a challenge to get and maybe someone likes yanderechan but she doesnt like them, obviously.
-Again, if you do make a town you should add, like many people said in youtube, more ways to kill likestalking and kidnapping and parents!! so that u can get them in trouble or maybe they have abusive parents and that can lead to suicide etc.
-Im so sorry to say this but i think its kinda obvious to have an incinerator at the front with all the weapons there and maybe u van get bad people, bad side of town to get them for u or maybe dig up the bodies and some places have hidden easter egg weapons and u can get some from town
-This one is kinda dumb but whatever, maybe makeovers for yandere like fake that she moved, u can also do that for the people u killed, and then change her identity but that can have consequences
- This one is kinda mean but maybe torture in your basement to make people say things and maybe in the bad side of town u can sell people and say they went on trips
-this is for the good part of town since i have so much for the bad part, maybe u can bake and poison people and if they have bad parents u can blame them and say u were gheir friend and reputation boost, stuff like that but nothing tooo complex
-for panty shots maybe there are like bad girls that like fir you to take them but they dont have that much value since like everyone has seen them but u are like good with them and maybe they spill something at you
-This is optional but plzzz more students its the same people and only two groups maybe there are good girls, more valuable panty shots, bad girls,i said this already, nerdy girls give you tils for learning ways to kill people but they can become suspicious, all that stuff like parkourers etc.
thx for reading hope you take this in considerarion

Open world would be a terrible idea and ill explain briefly: An open world is meaningless unless there is significant possible interaction and organic gameplay (elder scrolls, GTA, minecraft whatever), an open world without that is just a slow, boring map screen (e.g. No More Heroes 1, where there was nothing to do in the city but drive between missions). I fully respect your wishes, but you're a small team, stick to what you can do, and if yandere simulator is a hit, maybe consider a sequel with larger scope and budget :D
tudor - 9 years ago
One last thing: if youll add an open world and more ways of killing and morepeople to kill, it will most likely be compared to hitman and games like that, and if you wouldnt like that, you should expect it if you make the game open world and more complex. Thats just my opinion, and although I said it, I am still with the idea that it should be an open-small-world game. Tudor signed off!!!!!!!!!

Hello there, I'm a programmer that use Unity just like you! Create an open world city it's a really long process, REALLY LONG. My idea is to "imitate" the world of Dark Souls 2.
The world in DS2 it's not open because you can't go everywhere without using the "teleport", but the player has the feel that it's an open world. In this way you can make an Hybrid between Open and Close world.
This method exist in Persona series too. There are large (large for the PS2 era lol) areas but you can't go in every single area of the town, just those that are designed. For example:
- School
- School 2Floor
- City Centre
- City Dock
- City Shops Area
- Residential Zone where you live
- Home
In my opinion this is the best way for indie (or lonely) developers that wants more areas but can't create an open world. And with this method you can load or unload areas that you don't use, without worrying to create a script that load the world while you are walking, without loading (skyrim, GTA, etc)
For example you can put:
- School
- Yandere's residential zone
- Yandere's House
- Town Center
I wish you good luck for the game and maybe one day we can meet on the E3, before show our games to the world!

dear YSdeveloper,
it costs so much time to change in a open world ,as you have mentioned , a lot of details have to be added in and it is costly.i dont mean its not cost-effective,but its enough to set in school.A open world can allow players to explore more, but they have to spend lots of time to collect and discover at the same moment, involved lot of patient .
though to a small extent i would like to have a open world. maybe u can think about making tracks from school to YJ's and senpai's home.so she can follow her dearest senpai and take photo for specal use.
tudor - 9 years ago
Even though I have no idea whatsoever of how to make a game, I suggest that you make an open world game but not THAT open world. I mean, a small town in which there would be enough room for all the houses of the other students, and for the teachers of course and maybe some buildings that are crucial in the gameplay, such as a police station, a park next to the school where you can go anytime to increase your sanity, and stuff like that. But I say that you should update the environment and the mechanics of the school for now. Although I have many more ideas for you at the moment, this is what my brain thought it was the most important for now.
I hope you like my idea and I think yandere simulator will become a very good game, not that it isnt now. I must say I didnt play yandere sim myself, but I know that, whatever you do, youll make the best decision of how to make the game a better one. Keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!!

YanDev,
You may or may not read this, but I'm going to post this anyway as none of the votes really represent my thoughts on the matter. Before that though, let me just say I highly, HIGHLY respect you as a designer, considering you really know what you're doing. Anyways, while I like the fact you're considering such a thing as open world, there are a few things that you would need to do in order to make it work. The extra time and resources you mentioned sound about right, but in addition, you would have to find enough reasons to go with open world well in advance. Only if you are sure enough that there are enough meaningful things to in this "small town" should you attempt it, IMO. And not just because the undertaking is huge, but also because you'll be increasing the scope and spreading a lot of things over the area. Making the game open world, while you can limit the extent, WILL dilute the game and create more to keep track of. As is, I'm already concerned, what with all the things you have to do to get away with murder, or the steps you have to take in advance to get rid of rivals in more efficient ways. And then there's stuff that YanSim doesn't have yet, but really should have as a game, that makes things even more complicated.
Bottom line: Open world may be worth it, but the chances aren't too big, and I would PERSONALLY not risk it. If that's what you would do as well, the reason should honestly be because the game might get too complex otherwise. With that in mind, the best thing you can do is compromise. Perhaps with multiple environments. How would I know? I don't make games this big. But either way, make the game as big as people are likely capable of handling. More with less and all that.
Dazs - 9 years ago
Heyo YandereDev, here are my thougths on the poll: I see two risks in making Yandere Simulator open-world: a) the effort is huge and I don´t even know if six additional months would be sufficient. It´s changing the scope of the game rather drastically. b) an open-world is hard to fill proper. In the video of Natsuiro High School the world looks like an empty facade of places you can´t interact with and scarce NPCs that hardly fill it. So all the hard work could turn out to just create an No More Heroes type of city. I really love that game, but drivig around town is just time consuming and not really fun.
I understand you fear for the game to get boring quick, once a player figured out all there is to the school. So you could either bolster up the school environments like you already did (I think of sport courts, poolside, an old side-building, janitors quarters and other typical environments. But there also could be really not so typical environments: "Why the heck is there a forest with a graveyard on the premises?", "I don´t know, this school has some strange quirks.") and add more time-realted content, changing the schools face on morning, afternoon and maybe even night. Or you could use a hub-based system. Choosing a hand full of Locations on a map (Persona 4-style). So that was just my two cents, I´m sure you have a lot ideas already at stock. I can see it in your videos, I can feel it on the builds progress. I am personally fascinated with Yandere Simulators sense for details, for it´s feeling of action and consequence. For everything you can do there is a next step or an related factor. A new opportunity becoming available, a piece of evidence to dispose of, an effect on the classmates or school as whole to consider. Changing the focus to open world could water down this aspect, as it get´s almost impossible to connect all the actions. So I´m prefering a smaller Yandere Simulator with a delightful wicked sense to details and few but well crafted environments, that are filled with stuff that is relevant for gameplay (or lore ;])
Thanks for your work YandereDev. And thanks for the entertaining videos. I wish the best for the continuing process of development.
WastelandSociety - 9 years ago
I haven't played the game yet,due to not owning a pc at the moment but I have seen videos on YouTube.
See a lot of potential in the game and wish to play it later on down the road.
I think you should add a small town, though not right away. You're main focus should be on the school.
Improving the characters,and the environment.
Increasing the size of the school with added characters to make the game more alive otherwise it gets boring after a few gameplays.
Like adding an area where some students run around on a track and an archery near by. Adding the jump feature to get over a railing and (not to high) you can land on a student to kill or to get out of an area to avoid being spotted with blood on your clothes.
Once everything is finished with the school. Release the full game, then work on the small town.
Probably you can have the players kill certain students at night at their homes or frame them with a weapon that matches marks on a body that was found.
But it won't be easy since you have to sneak by the parents or anyone in the house that are up with out be spotted and thrown in jail.
Or to invite certain characters to a sleepover party to get information. Pillow fight......
Also you can sneak into senpi home and collect his belongings to treasure it and keep it in your secret shrine of him with pictures, etc at your home.
Only one thing every few nights.
Add a jail house where you have the option to restart the game once caught or break out and plan your revenge on killing everyone in the town. But that won't accomplish your main goal so you have to restart....but should be fun.
I got tons of ideas for this...so I better stop here before I get ahead of myself.
V - 9 years ago
I think the only thing that should be added as a technical 'open world area' is a pathway that leads to Yandere-Chan's home instead of using the glittery pink circle that appears at the gates where NPC's enter the school, that way it's a small open area and the exit ability from Yandere-Chan's bedroom doesn't just automatically teleport us to school but shouldn't require much money and volunteers needed for development.

FanofYanderechan - 9 years ago
Open world would be nice, now this is just my opinion so don't say that I'm wrong or anything. I'll list some things that'd be good for an open world
Stalking- Learn more info about your rivals such as their weaknesses, for example if ur rival sees something scary such as blood (sneak blood in her house or something idk) then later on u can use that weakness against her. Or u could stalk senpai to see what he likes.
More ways of killing- a yandere must plan, she can't go in an just stab away, so a town could add more variation in killing tactics, this is a simulator, so that'd make the game more realistic
Markets- You could buy drugs, weapons, or just typical everyday stuff that COULD be used as weapons, however yandere chan is probably underage for drugs like alcohol, so she may have to steal some, or blackmail an adult somehow to buy her some.(the drugs are used for drugging ur enemy btw)
Parents- Why do we need them? Well perhaps if yandere chan makes good enough friends with her rival maybe you could ask her parents valuable info that can't be contained anywhere else. I don't know what info that could be, ur the developer, so I'll let you do that if u like this idea. Or maybe you could find a way to kill ur rivals parents and make them depressed, depending on their personality they may get depressed and suicide, call the police or a teacher, or if u add a brave personality they start searching for who did the murder.
cutscenes- remember when we kidnap our rivals? Well maybe we could make it so u HAVE to actually sneak out and get the box, or else your rival might wake up and remember who it was and get you arrested.
Home kitchen- If you've gotten a high enough chemistry level maybe you could whip up a home-made poison, you may be asking why u can't do this in the school kitchen if u plan to add one, well, the school cafeteria will most likely also have lunch ladies or whatever, they are educated adults and will see what ur making and report u.
Blending in- Eventually people will get suspicious of you if ur not careful, and the school as of now is a small confined area and won't be good since their is very little amount of students, adding a town might allow u to do typical everyday things like take a walk or ride ur bike or buy clothes.(this idea is only for now since the school will get bigger in the future)
Those are all my ideas but I'm sure ull have more, so if ur reading this thank you, great game!!!

yes, just like others say more environment is good and all but making a open world is just too much but you can just make a map which pin point important location (ex:mall, coneveninet store, park, arcade, residential area, hotel, etc) instead. afterall yansim mostly based on japanese game and its rare to see japanese game with openworld they usually emphasize on characterization and plot so i dont see any good reason why it should openworld.

An open-world game, where you can "be friends" with any student and that they ask you to help them with their homework or where you can sneak to their houses and check for embarrassing things or clues like: finding out if they are in love with someone else, or if they are scare of something, or if they live in a poor house, etc...
Make it open-world, without losing the concept of murdering students

I'm thinking the small town would be great for night time tasks! For example, for the current kidnapping scenario you have in the game. You take the tranquilizer from the nurse, lure the student to the gym storage, knock them out and store them away for later when you leave. But with the open town, it would make it a little more involved. Instead of it just saying, "you snuck out and got the case" and the person shows up in your basement, you could instead have to go out yourself and retrieve them. Trying to avoid suspicion while dragging this huge case around. That would be a task! Heck! Maybe if there were students out and about that, if they saw you and knew you weren't in music class, they would get really suspicious of you and confront you directly. So there could be not only class requisites to abilities, but also club tier abilities that you could switch around to! There are so many scenarios and situations that could flourish with a larger area. I know it would be a lot of work, but I'm sure people would love to back you up! Making this a crazy, simple, yet complicated game. It makes people make up their own goals and find their own ways to play. I could wait years for this game if need be! Just keep doing your best! I'm sure you're getting a lot of inspiration from everyone now. Take lots of notes!

To be honest I have never played the game myself but from the looks of it, this game looks great and I would like it if you made a small town so even after school hours you could stalk your rivals and such. And if you need a voice actor, then I would be happy to try. I'm a young female in her teens so I think I would do great for a teen in the town after school, like one that doesn't go to the same school but has an interest in Senpai- Which is another thing, you could also add students from other schools who only come out during after school hours in the town- OuO
raymond - 9 years ago
I think even that you are putting a small town in the game you still yander brain wash other girls and boys and torcher them and have them kill other people to i think these would make the game more fun so if you think you are doing the right thing then tou should do it but make it look great and have it where you can follow other student's are going home and kill them befor they get there so keep up the good work
I feel open world would be nice but the instance of there being a purpose. Like only going out when needing to follow a targeted female out of the school grounds in order to peruse her after school hours, and even then it should be an option and not a necessity. I think open world would just out of the blue when ever you want would be ridiculous in the fact that's not a point to the game you seem to be making. Not only that but given the size of the would it might get confusing to players on where to go unless there was a map. Open would also imply that you can do stuff there like, eat, socialize or gather needed info, or un-needed info, however you may choose. I think there should be an open would when you have a mission to do, like you forgot something at home and ride your bike there and back but with a small penalty so it can keeping someone from doing it all the time and getting back on track with the story.
Other than that its a good idea in the sense when you want to accomplish a mission, but i don't think it should be something you can do when you want, whenever.

Well I think yandere Simulator can have more stuff to do like interactions and stuff and maybe being about to talk to sempai instead of just standing there loving on him also i think it would be great to have more of Yanderes house instead of just her Bedroom a basement and leaving for school i want the game to be kinda like Sims but at the same time a strategy game to win senpais heart and kill anyone who dares cross her or interfers such as her family maybe and I think her name could be better instead of Yandere why not Sally, Mary, Anna, etc any female name is good but no parent would name their child Yandere-Chan and please have her family at least cuz shes a high school student she needs a family and if shes not with anyone can she live in a house on her own anyway i would like it alot if Yandere had parents and possible a little sibling i know im being a critic but im not saying this to be mean i would like this game to have alot of stuff such as murder, Scary shit, and sexual stuff :3 but thats mainly up to you creator cuz i want a game i can enjoy better than any game i know it will take a while but i believe in you we all do and

Make it a larger campus. Like add say...multiple shops, and maybe dorms for student's that need to live on campus. And another idea that I just had. What if Yandare-chan wasn't the only psychopath in school? What if you can have a accomplice help you throughout your murders. Like an NPC that distracts teachers or student. Helps clean up "messes", stuff like that. It dosent need to be one set NPC. Just you can have multiple with a "sociopath trait" or something so you can coach the person into doing your biding. Like say put them in a situation where they kill something or sombody. Then help them clean it up and then they realise they really liked the killing, and see you as somebody that will let them kill again. So if you say wanna remove sombody just tell them to do it and to bring the body to a specific place. In my idea they have a chance of getting caught. But thats ok cause the police will have no leads tracing back to you and a rival was removed. I guess it would kinda be like assasins creed brotherhood where you recruit assasins. Just more in depth. I have no idea the amount of coding that would be involed. But it would make things more interesting. You can even add side missions. Like they up and killed sombody and need you to help clean it up in the middle of the night. Or they go on a killing spree and you stop them. Which would boost you reputation to the liked side. Of course you not every accomplice will be the same. Like some would lose all self control and go on saif killing spree easier then others. Or some would be harder to catch in bringing bodies to locations stuff like that. If you like the idea email me at Shane.Bohemier@gmail.com cause I got a messed up mind for this sort of stuff and I would love to give you more ideas!

How about you make two or more seperate areas u make money from doing quests and u buy the bus to make your way around town
I thimk you need to add small town BUT if someone in school see you and you dont enter time to class you should go to the principal and talk to him
The focus of the game is at the school, adding an entire town would take away this focus. I think having a few more environments could add to the playability, but an open world is too much.
(ha-ha)
The open worlds would really add to the game!! I dont think people realize the possiblities that come with a open world map, and just dont liek the idea of waiting. By creating an open map it'll allow the player more options and alot more play time. I personally would donate money to that cause and there are alot of others who would too.
A lot of people forget atmosphere is a large effect on the game. If it even means I have to wait 3 years for the game's release, I will wait, because your game is worth what you want to put into it. I hope you project becomes fully realized and I've been so happy watching it grow!!
Just complete the current game for now. You can always add the town later as DLC or Expansion later.
Open world seems too difficult to make, i think you should add more places but do it like the persona 3/4 style with the zones.
Should limit Yandere-chan killing ability at school only.
open world is really attractive but that's not essential.
reason of why many people want play Yandere Simulator because it is unique.
you must focus on 'Yandere'.
if you want to draw deep side.
I think, just school is enough.
someone's want to see the 'life'
but, you can't make that all.
I give you some advice.
thinking about society and love.
In the Yandere Simulator, love is very important.
for probability and process, for the absorbed.
if you haven't resolute story, remember this
Adding more environments may let players have more options when murdering. For example, maybe Yandere Chan can have part-time jobs in a convenience store and get some money to buy tools for murdering. :)
I also think you should include a jump button and super secret areas/ short cuts.
making it open world is ok. like follow or i mean stalking senpai till his home or even make yandere-chan house. but not too open. just adding the important stuff in it.
I have a suggestion, maybe you xan add a boy who love yandere. Then according the players choices, will have another ending.I think ut will make the game more interesting, but it just my suggestion.
Open world and real time would be great additions but only if they are story related. Players love to interact stuff in games so, as long as it's well crafted, it'll be a great feature as well. If you feel like open world really helps the game, I say: go for it!
You should make it open world but after the game releases
I don't think an open world as big as a small town is required, but I think some more environment can be added, like a part of town.
After all, I think if such environment is added can lengthen the operation time,I think 5days in school really not enough for the aim of yandere chan
Moreover, more operation can be taken, like buying presents, following senpai, kill someone by pushing them to a closing car or killing someone in a dark street...........
if the functions are enough, that fill a vacancyof environment, player won't feel boring
I say make the game open world that way you can stalk your pray outside of the school and take pictures of her buying drugs or doing "other things" to blackmail her or get her expelled
I know you probably won't read this, but I hope with this more people will choose to compremise, for I think that is the best choice for thttps://polldaddy.com/poll/8958719/?view=results&msg=voted#he Yandere Simulator.
you may consider that some of the woman in the outside world who love senpai. For example: senpai anti or supermarket cashier. And Yandere can murder them
an open world would be wonderful for yandere sim, it would be a way to stalk students outside of school, get insides scoops from parents and adults, stalk senpai and watch his daily habits
我是一个中国人,我非常喜欢病娇模拟器。虽然目前这款游戏并不是非常完全,但我希望作者能把这款游戏制作的更完美。所以我希望能做出一个世界,虽然这也许很难,但是我们会一直期待的。作者加油!
I think an open world is a good idea, but it definitely can't be TOO big. So a small open world would be nice, i could buy senpai stuff and anonymously put them in his locker.
SelvsLeaderCarson, YouTuber and Gamer.
I think it should be 'open world' but to a degree. As far as i'm aware this is your first feature length game, so do what you can. don't push too hard.
but on the other hand, you could always do updates that add to the game after release, i don't know i'm just throwing ideas out there.
I think u should add a town but keep the idea of the game sorry for any spelling mistakes
I live in Korea, I can not speak English, so I wrote to the translation by Google Translator
***
Great work! I'm looking forward to play the completed version!
What about DLC?
Omg I really think it should be open world she can stalk Zambia more steal stuff from Zambia many even sneak in his home and kill his mom mau hahaha
Many TOO much.....yea but you now I played and saw yandere SIM.since the beginning and I love how much it's grown zoo keep up the good work I'm solo exited for the final product I love you best game ever!! :-*
I think open world is need when this game is bigger that time you neee open world
Making the game Open-World by creating and attaching a small town to the game could lead to issues in the future, the biggest (and most worrying) being that it'll get too big and won't be released at all.
1. FOR VOTERS!!! this is not a website to post about wanting voice over jobs or ideas for game ( besides places) this is a place to decide about the map
2.FOR VOTERS!!! there is a website were you can post other ideas and concerns about the game. So it would be smarter to post it there instead
I think that the game would be awesome if there is special places to leave corpses in the city :D
Example: the house of one of the rivals of Yandere-chan
Sincerely,
JHF
I was thinking that if i could help you on some of the voices i can go high or low and as long the game is fun and cool i'll help you with anything so you do let me help you, you can send some stuff like stuff i need to help you with and i'll send the video or whatever you call it i forgot but anyway you can e-mail me if you want.
I encourage to keep the map size resalable but add enough events to interest the player, and give either an opportunity for Yandere-san or a disadvantage.
i want you to take place in a small town。
but i dont know how difficulty to do it。
and i think this is to deserve to wait for your game。
and i think your game is really cool for now。
i support you!
from taiwan people
I think its better to add town feature cause in town you can also murder the one who crush on senpai then you can go to police station or something, stalk senpai, also add jump for dramatic execution or high point execution, for better playing
Interesting monologue from a developing point of view.
Shit, ,maybe highschool does not actually have that many details as an enviornment as it should... Have you ever thought of using a college or university instead. Since its a bigger enviorment, with a bigger variety of characters or potencial characters for the game.
oh, and my e-mail is TeenyTika@gmail.com XP
i dont mind either way, but i love open-world games, and if you need any help, im willing to give you my hand :3 i AM un-experienced, but im willing to learn and help. mabye help with building textures or something with colouring, shaping, graphic design. it would be good for future experience :)
Oh and if you need any more free volunteers I'd be happy to help in anyway I can :3
You can email me at katbanks60@gmail.com
Hello,I come from China .I am very like this game .I think ,it is isn't need sucj a big world for this game,of course ,you can change something to let the game more full, and you don't need a big change.Final, the player of China all are except your final release!!!
Legit!
I don't think think a small town in Yandere Sim is a good idea, if anything she should be able to kill people outside the school when they're trying to report her to the police.
it doesnt have to be open world
why not put an option in the evening after class where you either stroll in town and collect information and buy weapons or go straight home
also limiting info chans information should add more challenge to it
i think the yandere simulator as of now is pretty easy since you can get any info you want from info chan with just a picture of their face
this is just a suggestion dont hate
I would love it to be open world. It might be difficult but I am sure you can achieve your dream, to make the community and yourself happy. When you sell it on steam my response will be "shut up and take my money". I will look forward to this open world Yandare game and I am sure that it will be smashing.
I think it's not necessary, Yandere objective suppose to be stalking the senpai... Why need free roaming....
Not all game needs open world... I'm really tired on open world faze in gaming nowadays..
ONLY ONE STREET IS ENOUGH!
ONLY ONE STREET IS ENOUGH!
