Lyra! I've always loved her design and after episode 100 I loved her even more, especially her voice.
But going by this episode I'd have to say Moondancer despite being a Twilight Sparkle recolor. But recolours once in a while doesn't bother me so much because in real life a lot of people has similar hairstyles, it actually puts some realism into it and makes things even more relateable. Besides, the two have different eye designs so it's not a total disaster. Actually, it's no disaster at all. :)

My point is quite simple and straightforward. I just mean that I totally and completely forgot what was in episode 1 season 1.

Lemon Hearts, Twinkleshine, and Minuette are just as old as Lyra in terms of character design. They all appeared in the first episode. I'm not sure how your argument holds up, then.

Though she wasn't in the episode, I have to vote Lyra since she's one of my fave background characters. In the show, I have to say Moondancer as I can relate to her a lot. Minuette was adorable however.
The trio felt too generic for me, so it was either lyra or twilight-clone (moondancer). In term of chara design, Lyra wins. Probably because since she's the oldest character of the five, she has the old style of color combination from season 1, which pleases me more than the latest combinations of color. In term of personality, Moondancer would win since Lyra has absolutely no canon character development. But I choose Lyra because she has a great fanon character development.

I love Lemon Hearts as well, but Minuette is definitely the best. Even with the few lines she has, she appears soft spoken, modest, and kind...not exactly the type to get their head stuck in an Erlenmeyer flash. xD
Lyra is just...eh. She received no characterization in Slice of Life, other than simply being mad at the true star of the episode, Special Agent Sweetie Drops. Plus, I don't like green.
