Comics are more self obsessed. Maybe it's the immediate gratification of audiences, or the recent preponderance of podcasts and documentaries proclaiming their nobility, but comics have really started to think that nothing they say can be scrutinized. Bloggers have to deal with comment sections and click-obsessed editors; if an audience member does anything other than laugh, the comic comes for blood. Write so much as a tweet afterward and same comic seeks it like a laser. And if the comic is big enough, here comes every other comics and their fan bases, caping up for the first amendment (totally missing the irony of their criticism).
