Dirt biking in Baltimore has been controversial this week. Do you think building a dirt bike park will solve this problem?

Are you Retarded if you guys build a dirt bike part for these kids to ride the dirt bikes all you are doing is enabling them that's like giving a place for drug addicts to do drugs smh that would be the worst idea Baltimore City has ever came up with when you are trying to help the community not make it worse

Idiotic idea! They are illegal now and the kids (and their parents) do not obey the laws pertaining to them, so what makes you think a dirt bike park will suddenly make people start obeying dirt bike laws? They are not going to buy trailers (most of these kids are not old enough to drive cars), they are going to just keep on riding like they do now as long as there is impunity because the cops let them. The way to get something done is to start holding parents accountable for their minor age kids- some time in jail & high fines will convince them to get rid of the illegal dirt bike and start acting like parents. These kids do what they do because their parents do not care. I also like the idea of a reward, I have a $300 medical bill insurance did not pay if I could turn in a couple dirt bike owners to pay it off boy would I Money talks and most kids have enemies who would rat them out of neighbors who are sick of it and know where the kids w/ the bikes are. Put that woman who gave her teen a smack down when she caught him throwing rocks at cops during the riots in charge, she'd know what to do! What the city needs is more parents like her.

I ride my Atv legally where it is allowed. Western Maryland has Atv trails still open. Pa has trails open to Atv and dirt bike. So does the eastern shore, virgina and west virgina. But the thing is these hoodlums like to break the law. Every video I seen of them they are not wering helmets and eye protection. So that shows they dont care about the law. Who is going to enforce any laws if the city builds a park for this purpose. There will be thefts and assaults there daily. Then when the city gets sued for injuries that happen there. It will be shut down. Also these hoodlums willstillride on the streets to and from coursing accidents and not being held responsible for them. Not to say the drugs dealing going on there.

I understand what the city is attempting to do by building this park, but most of these people ride dirt bikes because it's illegal and they want to look cool. Even if the park is built, people will be riding their dirt bikes in the street, because that's exactly what the authority wants them not to do.

Good idea. lock the kids up and turn them over to the criminal justice system. that'll fix the problem. banning things has never worked. how about taking a look at the law. maybe legalize them in approved areas like a bike park and only allow transporting them in trailers. maybe find land in the county? those dirt bikes aren't going anywhere. give the youth something positive to do. when i was growing up near hanlon park they took the basketball goals down and removed the swings. closed the rec center and said no congregating. that didnt work. we started playing football in the street. kids need an outlet.

The police don't have to go far to find the stolen dirt bikes, but for some reason they are not arresting the people and returning the dirt bikes to the people that bought them. Yes not all of them are stolen but from news reports a lot are,

Since when do we reward people who are breaking the law. Building a bike park for illegal dirt bikers is rewarding people breaking the law. This city is giving all the rights to those who break the law and try to punish those who are trying to uphold the law. Since when can people throw rocks and whatever at police officers and not be locked up for assault. The good honest people in the city are afraid to do anything because there is no one left to protect them. Give the rights back to honest people and the police officers and lock those up who are breaking the law.

Possessing a dirt bike in the city is illegal, so why build something for kids to ride illegal bikes and how do you think they would get the bikes to the park to ride them? You enforce the law you do not cater to those who break it. Arrest them, confiscate the bikes, offer rewards for tips of where illegal bikes can be found and arrest the parent/s of minors who have them. It's not like the kids are hiding the bikes under their beds is it? The parents know they have them and if they did not buy them. If there were a $100 reward to turn in an illegal dirt bike I could make a couple hundred in about 10 minutes LOL! (you know which neighbors have them don't you?) I would also be all for open hunting season where we could shoot the kids off them and get to keep the bike as a trophy. Hey let the police chase them, if you are worried about your kid getting killed then keep them at home. The dirt bikers are killing & endangering people.

Riding a non-street legal vehicle on the road already is illegal. Did you mean Dirt Bikes on public roadways is illegal? Not Everywhere? After reading some of the articles about this on this web site I now realize why the poll is worded so poorly!
