They can check my bags all they want, but they better not try to take my candy and soda I'll be bringing with me. Or they should lower their prices so I won't have to bring them.

So now, gun owners cannot carry their legally licensed concealed guns into a Regal movie theater. Bad move. Some unlicensed crazy is going to walk into the theater and start shooting as soon as he gets inside because he knows everybody is unarmed. How does this make sense? Guess I'll be watching my movies at home where I know I'm safe.

The search is invasive and dangerous for the searcher who (probably) is not trained in such procedures. How will NYS Concealed Carry permit holders be treated? Oh? Don't carry into the theater? Alas for the movie goers that lost their lives to madmen. A single person legally carrying a firearm into the theater would have made a difference.

If they've been checking for years then one of the article's commenters is correct- they're checking their $ bottom line to make sure people are not bring in food. That it's making headline news now means they're just trying to cash in on public sentiment that they're concerned for safety.

I'm going to Regal theaters for many years, and they are searching my bag for years, now, it doesn't bother me, at all. I have nothing to hide.
